Have a question?
Sorry if already answered, but when was the backerkit up and running? I have some spare cash to upgrade my pledge.
My advice falls upon deaf ears, I fear her heart poisoned by the stranger who walks our halls. His ragged countenance does chill me to the bone, I do not like his presence here, but he has won favour with the Queen and my words fall unheard to the chamber floor.
Wow-begotten Cassilda, how she mourns. Her sighs are born upon the quiet wind throughout this dark manse.
@Nick - With Gen Con in the rear view mirror I'm now putting together the revised version of Paris for the first playtest wave, which I hope to see announced to backers in the next month or so.
A playtest pack for the Wars will follow a few months later, definitely before Dec 2018. It will include the intro scenario.
I want to start running a playtest campaign towards the end of the year, set in The Wars setting. Is there likely to be any substuantial new material for this sourcebook released in draft form (particularly scenarios - even outlines) ahead of December 2018?
@Luke - Thanks, dude, I've sorted it. It was my stupid tablet playing up.
@Gary what're you trying to open it on?
Hi, the link for the pdf of New Tales of the Yellow Sign is not working for me. Am I doing something wrong?
@Ronaldo - Pelgrane uses more than one shipper. Could you please contact Pelgrane customer service at firstname.lastname@example.org to help them track this issue down?
As a gentle suggestion, I would like you talk with the shipping company to improve the protection of packages from the books at the time of submission. My deluxe copy of Dracula Dossier got a little dent (sic) on the cover and came loose in the cardboard package.
@David - Stretch goals are now closed and will not continue into the pre-order. —RDL
Congratulations on the campaign guys - this has definitely been the most exciting one of the year and I can't wait to hear how things progress!
In the meantime though, go relax - it's well earned.
...Oh. Oh dear.
Wonder what price for that service he'll extract.
Awright, we managed to get to 167k! Guess having this KS's eponymous character as my profile pic gave me luck...
Quick question: Will Preorders count their total to get additional stretch goals. No worries, either way since the number of goals made is fantastic. Just curious.
Woooo! Spring Break!
Congrats on the great campaign!
Fantastic campaign, I am so very excited to follow along and see the final product!
@RBL ... Thanks!
@Pat - Yes. —RDL
Wow... long week. Question should have read 'is there a chance to upgrade...'
Hey... is there are change to upgrade in a backer kit once the campaign is over if we were so inclined? I'm backing the regular print edition at 80 but would love to upgrade to deluxe. I just can't at the moment.
Just finished the previews - they remind me a bit of Simon Green's "Nightside" series.
The premise of the novels is equal parts dark fantasy, cyberpunk, and film noir detective story. A city that shouldn't exist, where its always 3 am, and the full moon hangs so low you could almost touch it, the Nightside is a place where men and monsters walk side by side. Where fallen gods peddle salvation down dark alleys, and neither heaven nor hell claims dominion. Anything is available for a price, from the latest books by long dead authors (freshly imported from the afterlife!), to alien technology . . .
The main character is John Taylor, whom some call a king-in-waiting, and others the spawn of Hell. Run out of the Nightside by faceless horrors, he's lived in mundane London for years, working as a detective. But one day, a woman comes into his office. Her daughter has run away, to a place called the Nightside. And if he doesn't help her, she'll go looking for it herself . . .
. . .and as John Taylor walks those familiar streets, listening to the screams as the Little Sisters of the Chainsaw seek fresh converts, he realizes just how much he missed it all. Let them come - the Lamentation or the King of Thorns, the Collector or the Harrowing. This is his home. And if they want to take it from him, he'll give them one hell of a fight. . .
@Gary - These PDFs go to all backer levels above Dauber, so you're covered.
As a behavioral economist, I'm going to be really sad if we don't find out more about nUDGE.
Hm 167K would be quite a jump, but I hope we can get to the 163k mark.
Argh, really hope we can get that Gallic Grotesqueries SG... Not enough French monsters in most games; even Ye Olde D&D only has a few smatterings (though granted, the Tarrasque itself is an awful big smattering...).
I backed at the $45 level. I'd like to get the stretch goal PDF's for Essoterrorists and Nights Black Agents. How do I get that?
Thanks for the answers people, that did increase my confidence in the decision. Looking forward to the books. =)
@semiomant, We will ship all the EU packages from the EU. If the UK is no longer in the EU at the point of shipping, we will ship them from another EU shipping point instead - CMT
@semiomant, Brexit shouldnt start affecting things until after March 2019, so if this is more or less on time, we should be ok...
@semiomant - yeah I'm filing shipping costs into the 'we'll deal with that when we get there' part of my brain.
Excited to see what stretch goals we can tick off in the final hours!
WIth Brexit this will probably come back to bite me, but I'm upgrading to print edition. Let's see how exorbitant shipping and tariffs will get.
@Kathleen - We are absolutely hoping that they're able to do that with Yellow King.—RDL
Cheers Robin for the info! Will be doing exactly that when I have more £££ :)
I see they have the Dracula Dossier ones for sale. Would they, at some point after the KS commitments are met, and they have time, be authorized to make more?
@Shawn - They are handmade so we can only get a certain number from the lovely folks at All Rolled Up.
We considered increasing production by locking them in an oubliette by the black shore of Lake Hali, but apparently that won't be legal until after Brexit. —RDL
Well there be any way to get the the yellow King ARU other then the super limited sold out teirs?
@Joe - As Shai says, the Paris book contains the full rules. Although I think the full four-setting experience really offers something special (see http://site.pelgranepress.com/index.php/how-connections-between-yellow-king-realities-emerge-in-play/ ) you and your group could quite easily run a long or short series (or a one-shot) in any of the settings and have a blast with it.
@Ben - Yes, you can upgrade in Backerkit. —RDL
@Joe, all the rules needed to play are in "Paris", the first book. From my understanding, each corebook of the Gumshoe system changes some of the rules to fit the setting that it takes place in. So the rules will be a bit different from the original Gumshoe system (Esoterrorists). For example YKRPG uses the card mechanics from Gumshoe One-2-One to keep track of injuries (instead of having a health stat).
This game looks amazing, I just backed it in the final hours. It is my first GUMSHOE game, and I have to ask; are all the rules necessary for play contained within book 1, or do I need to find a sourcebook or something for core GUMSHOE rules? If I don't need a sourcebook, will it take away from the experience if I only use book 1?
Oh and thanks to everyone that already backed! The player facing combat are a perfect fit for the kind of setting I'm going to be running!
Could everyone here share this with their friends? I already shared with one of mine and I'm eagerly waiting for the hunger and disease condition cards for a campaign I plan on running soon.
Will it be possible to upgrade my pledge in Backerkit?
@Ulf - It didn't last long!
Unfortunately (for me) circumstances has forced me to choose a more economic pledge.
Luckily (for you) there is one again a Suite at the Ritz-pledge available.
Couldn't resist in the end... I'm in! Will it work well with One-2-One? I was going to start a Cthulhu Confidential with my wife, but I think this setting could work better.
