Last fall Resonance Productions and Leonian Pictures teamed up to produce a heartfelt family dramedy called "Pretty Broken." We faced obstacles such as a challenging schedule, talent and locations with tricky availability, and the biggest hurdle many indie filmmakers face; limited financial resources.
However, the universe works in mysterious ways. Talent availability and locations seemed to fall into place perfectly. We managed to choreograph a shooting schedule that covered a 110 page script along with a few additional scenes we wrote on location. Cast and crew believed so much in the project they agreed to work far below their rates. They worked hard, and it shows. Donors gave generously to an early crowdfunding push through From The Heart Productions and helped cover our initial production expenses.
Pretty Broken's cast is made up of talent from Portland, Seattle, and Los Angeles. Here's our starring line-up:
We've done the heavy lifting- the film is shot, edited, and is ready to move into the final phase of post-production and it's turning out awesome! Vendors have been generous and are working at reduced prices, but we still need a little help with some of the final expenses. Making movies is spendy and we believe Pretty Broken deserves the best:

Risks and challenges
Our biggest challenge is making sure Pretty Broken is completed in time for the Sundance early-bird deadline of August 11, 2017. We expect the film to be finished by August 1st.
We have a top-notch team in place to carry out post. The biggest risk we run is not coming up with the extra funds to pay them their remaining balances.
Early test screenings have come in highly favorable, especially in our female early 20's to 50+ year old demographic. We are confident Pretty Broken will find its audience whether it be through festivals or online partners like Netflix or Amazon.
Other risks and challenges include major earthquakes and alien invasions. If either of those events take place, we'll take it one day at a time.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
