UMass Amherst dance majors have been invited to perform in New York City. Help them make it there (so they can make it anywhere!)

University Dancers under Artistic Director Paul Dennis is the only college touring company in New England that offers audiences a full range of dance repertory, including modern dance, ballet and jazz dance. UD has a strong commitment to connecting with arts across the UMass campus and bringing dance to underexposed communities in the region. The touring experience and the interactions at diverse venues have often been life changing for both dancers and their audiences. During the tour, students experience the realities of a professional touring company, learning skills that benefit their post graduation careers.

The funds will be used for:

-Accommodation the evening prior to the performance. The dancers will be staying at Broadway Hostel and Hotel http://www.broadwayhotelnyc.com/

-A masterclass by Roxanne D'orleans Juste in preparation for the performance.

-A reception for UMass Dance Alumni and Kickstarter funders immediately following the performance.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

These dancers are full-time students with rigorous rehearsal schedules and little discretionary income. If we don't get the buy-in from other dancers and supporters of dance, it will put a financial strain on these dancers to appear here at the 92nd Street Y. I am qualified to overcome these obstacles from my service in leadership and creativity in my own business. There's always a way to create more community!
