We are two Boston-based young composers, producing a concert of our own music! For the task we’ve booked the wonderful Club Oberon in Harvard sq. and we set the date: June 12th, 2011, 8:00pm. Oberon is a fantastic venue, with a cabaret atmosphere: tables, chairs, a bar, and the drama takes place all around the audience, as well as within it.
The concert is really important to us because we’re staging scenes from our brand new operas. Along with our two opera scenes we're producing two original chamber pieces, inspired by Jewish music. Producing this concert will allow us to have good recordings and videos of our music, as well as receive a young, hip audience’s feedback on our work: essential for a young composer!
We have already gathered some of the best of Boston’s young professional classical musicians, opera singers, and video/recording artists. The music is already finished and we plan to hold rehearsals in late May/early June in preparation for the concert. The evening promises to be an exciting and fun-filled concert of new music.
Our goal now is to raise the money to pay all of these talented and incredible people for both the rehearsals and the performance.
