Sue Costello; comedian, writer, producer and actress from the Oscar-winning movie, “The Fighter”, is staring in her own one-woman show that showcases her unique and humane way of viewing the world. The show tells a story that is hilarious and heartbreaking.
After several workshops and lots of positive feedback, it is time for a complete refresh. We are changing the title, hiring a new director, Enrico Colantoni (http://www.imdb.com/name/nm0170186/), and are striving for an LA run which will be called “PHASE ONE”. All of this could be possible with your help!
Sue is a big believer in having hope – a message that carries through the show and speaks to the audience. Helping finance this project is a way to get involved; and a vote of confidence for this positive, hopeful way of looking at the world.
Supporting the show during PHASE ONE will allow for a two-week run in Los Angeles in June 2013. With your help, we can rent a theater, pay salaries and cover the expenses of moving the show from NYC to LA.
After LA, the possibilities are endless, and then there would be a PHASE TWO and THREE. There could be a longer run, a television show, a movie, etc. The show has grown organically thus far. This is your chance to invest in the optimism and courage that Sue brings to the audience each night because she believes that one person can change the world and we’re all only as strong as the sum of all of our parts.
Risks and challenges
Sue has been working on this show for 15 years, and has learned so much about show production during that time. Over the 15-year period, there have been many roadblocks, but she has overcome each roadblock along the way because she used the blocks as stepping stones. This run is no different because, ultimately, there may be problems, but Sue has learned that when she treats people the way she wants to be treated, and is clear in her intentions and expectations, anything can happen - and unforeseen problems can be overcome.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
