Some questions answered...
We've had a few people asking about whether or not Anderson Entertainment has made any financial commitment to GF1, and asking why the company doesn't just fund the book itself... So here's some more information for you about that.
We (Mum and I, as Anderson Entertainment) have stumped up some cash towards making this happen, as has MG Harris - it's several thousand pounds in total. That's our commitment to making this happen, to getting the word out there. You can probably tell that even to get to this point, having a properly resourced Kickstarter campaign has a huge amount of time and effort, design, video production, etc.
However, we won't recoup anything unless the book shows a profit. Kickstarter is a way by which fans can get involved on the ground floor, to show their support and continued desire to see new projects based on Gerry's legacy. We felt it was important to let fans give that kind of active feedback.
I am not taking any sort of fee during or after the campaign, and nor is Anderson Entertainment. We just want to get this book out there! The only way we will ever make any returns from this, if the campaign is a success, would be through future books sales or if a publisher picks the book up at a later date.
The estate do not own the rights to any of the most successful Gerry Anderson shows, and therefore do not derive any income from them. In fact, the estate only owns the rights to Dick Spanner and a couple of pilot shows.
We simply don't have the necessary resources to make this happen without you!
Thanks for your amazing support in helping us make Dad's novel a reality!
