The First 36 Hours: MADNESS, HUMILITY, and a HEAD COLD
Hey everyone in the LAST LIFE community! I am plotzing with joy just to see you all here. To those who jumped on this futurist deco-styled ship with us right at the start, you stalwart souls among the first day’s backers, I cannot thank you enough for your friendship, your shared interested in amazing adventure games, and your support. To those of you thinking of joining our crew, we hope you’ll stick around and enter the LAST LIFE realm.
But first, I must ask: Are you ready for a mega-update?
In just 36 hours, you’ve helped us whip past the 36% funded point. Wow!! Mind = Boggled. It’s so cool this has connected with so many people. Thanks so much. And special thanks for sharing our Kickstarter with friends, relatives, and the occasional loud stranger. You don't know how much this means to us. It’s lucky I’ve got that box of Kleenex handy (aforementioned cold) because you’re getting me a little teary over here.
PAX East is Roaring:
So it’s my first ever PAX East. What a wild way to jump into this roaring ocean of gamers and game makers. I <3 Boston. I need to repeat my sincerest thanks to Tim Schafer, Greg Rice, and Justin Bailey, plus all the talented guys/gals from Double Fine who have taken me under their wings, fed me pizza, offered me a chair in their booth, escorted esteemed members of the press my way, and generally welcomed a newcomer to sit at the big kid’s table. I can’t claim you’ve kept me sane while LAST LIFE is launching—sanity? Must look that up later. But you know: best party ever!! Thanks, thanks, double fine thanks.
I’m also gonna take a minute to share a few incredible articles on our campaign that came out yesterday. It’s a weird weird feeling to have worked on a project so close to my heart, so intensely in a little room, showed it to my close friends and family, gotten feedback from my coworkers, and then suddenly… yikes!...others are looking at it too. I’m immensely grateful to the journalists who took the time to shine a little light on our project.

Misty Sheridan's character bio unlocked!
Thank you, thank you noble first 1000 backers! As promised, with the 1000 backers threshold passed, we are introducing a pivotal character in Jack Parker’s life on MarsTopia. She is the sort of ally that comes in handy. Misty is not above working for the wrong sort of folks, and those are the exact folks Parker needs to mess with.
Hear the full length track from the trailer.
I really tried to keep my trailer short. Short, short, short. And yet that meant asking The Tone Ranger to cut his 1 minute and 17 seconds of cool jazzy space western gold down to 41 seconds. But, the truth is, I love the longer version of the song. So here it is for all to hear (and without the VO):
So that's that for the time being. Thanks again. I am humbled. I feel thrilled, like if a first date went a million times better than expected. And your best friend said, trust me, it will be great. But you know… when does that ever happen? But you are seriously all the best first date, ever. And I swear I’ll get over this cold soon.
1 day down, 27 to go!
