In LA's sunny San Fernando Valley, you can find reasonable accommodations, friendly people, a short commute to Hollywood - and a never-ending series of abandoned shopping carts dotting the landscape (seriously, it's really cool!). But what if these carts weren't actually abandoned? What if they were carefully placed by some sort of higher power so that they added up to coordinates on a map, pointing the way to a hidden treasure in a secret temple, protected by a Guardian and a Monster Bird? And what if two guys - a regular kid obsessed with shopping cart photography, and a hard-bitten, embattled Adventurer (GREG LEE of "Where in the World is Carmen Sandiego") went treasure-hunting for it, all because the kid photographer owes his roommate (L.B. DENBERG of Nickelodeon's "All That") a crazy amount of back rent, and she's had it up to here? And if what if you combined all of that into an urban-magical-realism comedy along the lines of 80s Cult Favorites such as Repo Man, crossed with a Sergio Leone landscape and with a dash of Calvin and Hobbes whimsy? You'd have "Lost Treasure of the Valley", an insane concoction that needs YOUR HELP!
Sound cool? For the low, price of $10,000 you can see our vision come to life! If you're a fan of Lori Beth Denberg, "All That", Greg Lee, "Carmen Sandiego" or just fun adventure flicks in general, please donate!
Risks and challenges
We have a super-solid/talented cast and crew from the TV and Film world, including an amazing VFX artist and an astoundingly gifted composer. The only challenges would be if an earthquake and a comet both struck at exactly the same moment on Day 1 of filming, in which case we would end up not filming out of respect for Mother Nature (or at least wait until the next day when the rubble and comet dust had been cleared out). Basically, the odds are very good we'll make something awesome and you can help!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
