AJALA: A SERIES OF ADVENTURES is an ongoing comic book series, written by Robert Garrett, with art by N Steven Harris, colors by Walt Msonza Barna.
AJALA is introduced to the C.S.C., a covert group that has been acting as Harlem's protectors since the 1920's. She learns that her family has a history with the C.S.C. with her great grandfather and father being one of the groups founders and her mother’s past when she was once a junior agent. AJALA is plunged into the C.S.C. as an agent in training that is sent out to ensure community safety. Through her lessons as a junior agent and her everyday life as a normal school student, AJALA will be leading a new life of adventure and discovery, and helping to protect her community from ruin.
We want to accelerate the production of the comic book. This is why we are doing issues 5 and 6. With your help we are looking to publish the next two issues in the series as a collected book.
" A CHANGE OF PERSPECTIVE "
With the two book Collected Edition, "A Changing of Perspective", we are creating parts 1 & 2 (issues 5 and 6). This is the next evolution that continues the ongoing saga of AJALA: A Series of Adventures taking the main character Ajala Storm to her next evolution of becoming a teenage hero of Harlem under the training of the C.S.C., the protectors of an alternate Harlem, New York.
Ajala and her family find themselves the targets of the QUO, the C.S.C.'s enemies. They consist of politicians and men of power, in the shadows, who have sought to destroy the protectors of Harlem since their inception.
Ajala and her mentor, Mr. Dennis, confront an agent from the shadows enlisted by Councilman HOFF and his daughters, DANA & ESTELL HOFF. Ajala must come to terms of what it takes to be a hero, and what the world will take away from her. The books will be a study in the reality of heroism and sacrifice.
The story will be developed in the pages of issues #5 and #6, hence the title for our Kickstarter book will be called, "A Change of Perspective" – Special Edition
With the first four issues completed and published, we are currently halfway completed with the pencils for issue #5 and have begun the color process for those pages.
WHY KICKSTARTER? Simply put, the printing costs of trade paperbacks is beyond our scope, so we are asking for help to print these trade paperback collections. We have paid for the first four single issues and the Collected Edition out of pocket. We do not believe in asking you to invest in anything we would not be willing to invest in ourselves. Funds will go towards printing, coloring and additional pages illustrated by the colorist, Walt Msonza Barna, and postage of the Collected Edition and Kickstarter fees. Just know that you are directly backing indie creators by backing this campaign.

Risks and Challenges
We are currently halfway complete with pencils of issue Five and moving forward with colors, hence the risk is pretty small from that point of view. The main risk is issues with the printer If the volume of orders is a lot bigger than we expect, we will be overjoyed.... but that may also lead to delays.
