Tactical Retreat: New Kickstarter February 20th

Dear Backers, We have decided to postpone the Kickstarter and relaunch on February 20th.

Please note that you will not be charged for your pledge this time! Kickstarter only charge backers if the campaign passes the main goal.

What happened?

With a PS4 Launch, an Xbox One Launch, Thanksgiving, Black Friday, and Christmas Shopping, we launched the KS at a really bad time and given the time constraint we had we did not get to prepare the campaign as well as we wanted to.

The pros for cancelling now outweigh the cons in our eyes. We have recently acquired a small financial injection which will keep us going until the relaunch in February. We want to use the time in between now and the relaunch to continue with development, as well as to prepare for the new kickstarter campaign.

The current Kickstarter will be cancelled today.

Here is some of the plans we have in order to better ensure success next time:

  • Work with the press and youtubers well ahead of the next Kickstarter in order to make sure we will get plenty of attention during the campaign.
  • Better reward tiers and structure.
  • Cool new rewards (including physical rewards). We hope a lot of you will come join us the first days of the campaign, kick starting the campaign.
  • Better execution of updates - we will start preparations right away.
  • Video updates from the office - meet the developers. We already have some exciting news that we will be saving for the next KS.
  • We also welcome ideas from backers on how to improve the kickstarter.

So, please keep your current pledge tiers as they will not be deducted from your account when we cancel the campaign. However, it will allow us to make some great loyalty rewards to all of you! We will inform you about the details of the rewards just before launching the next Kickstarter.

Thanks again for your support so far, we will now go into a 2 month period working really hard to make more game content and cool updates for the next KS!

We will still be able to post updates to this kickstarter to keep you all in the loop of what is happening and to notify you of the relaunch both in advance and on the day itself.

We would also like to as always invite you all to our Forum where you can interact directly with us and all other fans during the entire development.

Thank you for believing in us and for all the support you gave us during this campaign!

Project Spotlight

In the meantime here are some other great projects on kickstarter that would really like your contributions.

So Many Me

A super cute and charming puzzle platformer inspired by Braid and Portal. This one is coming out on almost everything; PC, Mac, Linux, PS4, PS Vita, Wii U, and you can play their demo right in the browser.

Tower of Elements 2

A medieval city building strategy and puzzle game with a super addictive match-3 tower defense system mixed in. Build and fight for your kingdom! They have already delivered successfully on a kickstarter before with the first installment in the series.

This campaign has already finished quite successfully, but we just have to mention it because this game looks absolutely gorgeous. A classic point and click adventure game with a dark and atmospheric art style reminiscent of the old Fallout games. The demo is up on the kickstarter and you can still pledge through their paypal.

I normally disagree with quitting a campaign before the end, but this really is a bad time to try to ask for money from people. Waiting a few months is definitely a wise move, IMO.

Sad to hear about the cancellation, but excited for the relaunch next year. Wishing the whole team a Merry Christmas & a Happy New Year.

I look forward to the relaunch. In the meantime, I suppose I have a few bucks freed up, and since I'd been keeping an eye on So Many Me anyway, I'll kick it forward, or to the side at least.

Hm. Perhaps it didn't show up because Wii U is so high up the stretch goals it's achievement is inconceivable, particularly with the rut of pledging kickstarter is in right now.

Looking forward to the relaunch. See you in Feb!

Ah, I didn't think of Thanksgiving and Black Friday. We don't do those over here.

... Hey! D: I did a search for 'Wii U' just yesterday. Why didn't that game show up?

:D They all look great, though~

Anyway, good luck with the relaunch! I'll see you there~

It's a shame that this kick starter didn't take off as well as it should've. I really hope the next attempt is a much bigger hit. I am backing this next project since I really want a turn based RPG for my wii U console.

I'm curious on what goals will be new for the next attempt.
Goodluck on the process of the game during the months that the Kickstarter is on hold.
