This Kickstarter is going to help fund the production and release of my first album! I've written over a hundred songs in the past five years, played on the streets and in every elderly home within a twenty mile radius of Burlington, but haven't managed to properly record my music. The problem is that my head is crowded with music I've written but haven't shared. If the record had a name, it would be "Grapes into Wine," because that's what it feels like I'm doing - taking what I've created and turned it into something I can share. When the album is finished, I aim to travel, sing, and add some rain to the well of folk tradition. But I need your help!
The album has been recorded and is now going through the motions of production. The mixing, mastering, artwork, and physical production of the album are beyond my budget, so I'm asking for $6000 to pay all the folks involved in the project. Your support will pay for their work and for the production of the "compact discs" and LP's themselves. If the contributions exceed my goal, the money will be put towards creating my own website, an essential step for those pursuing music in this day and age.
To everyone who has supported me in creating this music, and to those backing this project, thank you!
Risks and challenges
The album has yet to be pressed on vinyl, the CD's haven't been made, and I have never done any of this before. The lesson I've learned so far is that everything takes much longer than I intend it to. That being said, I've set what seems to be a realistic goal of having the album done by the end of the summer. Until that time, I'm going to be having a lot of fun making cassette tapes and art for the backers of this project. If it does end up being released in the fall, the only difference will be that the ground will be crunchier and your anticipation will ideally make the music sound much better.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
