Brand New Music and Classics with New Arrangements
The Anderson Ponty Band will visit the music created by Jon Anderson and Jean-Luc Ponty over the years with new arrangements, virtuosic performances and new energy, while creating new compositions as well.
The Anderson Ponty Band have been writing and arranging old favorites during the past three months. They'll be in residence for three weeks in September at Wheeler Opera House in Aspen, Colorado rehearsing, recording and playing a public performance on Saturday September 20th.
The album will be finished in Los Angeles and is scheduled for release in early 2015. Also, a videography documenting the making of the album will be released as well as videos and performances. A world tour beginning in March 2015 is in the planning stages.
Infinity Demo Track*.
This second demo is a reimagining of the Jean-Luc Ponty classic Infinity morphing into a new section written for the CD. Just a taste of what is coming!!
Listening Demo Track.*
*Please note these clips are demos and not completed tracks. We are posting them to give fans an idea of the exciting music we are working on.
"A breakthrough feeling came as I sang with Jean-Luc's music, to be in a band again is very exciting on many levels, we will play and sing our way around the world and have fun, for music is pleasure, music is all that is, music is God” - Jon Anderson
First of all, for our fans.
Our fans have been behind everything we’ve ever done we want to do this as a way of giving you all a chance to be part of the entire creative process. Everyone who supports this project will have played a part in making the album and our new band happen. In addition to the rewards, we’ll also keep you posted with news, updates and exclusive previews as we create the album, rehearse for and play our debut show and embark on our world tour.
And secondly, recording, producing and creating a record is an expensive process. Same with rehearsing in the amazing venue of the Wheeler Opera House in Aspen where we’re going to play the Anderson Ponty Band’s debut show and then create a concert DVD commemorating the experience.
We could have gone to a record label for the money. But we knew we wanted this to be organic. No outside interference or meddling. Just the band making our music for our fans and with our fans.
That’s the beauty of Kickstarter. It means there will be absolutely no label interference, because there is no label. Which means we can make the music we want to make, exactly how we want to make.
It means we can take our time and do everything right. It means we can reinvent our older stuff and create fantastic new music. It means we can decide how many discs the album has and exactly who’s going to create our album art.
So why Kickstarter?
Because it means with your help we can make our music our way and we can all do it together.
So come along on the adventure!
