About
My book, "Knitting the Indie Dyers", incorporates designing with independent dyer’s yarns, and 35 years of designing and pattern writing. My creative patterns have what it takes to show off the great fiber products being produced by small dye houses around the country. I have written the patterns for socks, hats, gloves and fingerless mitts that so many knitters are looking for today, using a wide variety of yarns from these sources. The book is based on two E books I have now on Ravelry, the largest knitting resource site on-line. The two E books are called "Projects From the Fiber Festivals", the first being a collection of sock patterns, the second a collection called Heads and Hands, which has hats, gloves and fingerless mitts. Adding to these two collections will create a comprehensive group of interesting and challenging designs for those looking to knit with unique and creative pattern support, once obtaining yarn from independent dying and/or spinning sources, resulting in a must-have book for the knitting public.
The patterns I write are extremely user-friendly; nothing more than intermediate level, and all are knit in fairly traditional manner using well known styles, and, although interesting and creative, are not technically intimidating. Included are several Intarsia (colorwork) patterns, with simple charting. The majority of the patterns are worked in fingering weight with several using a DK yarn.
