A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:
Proof of Concept
Explorations that test ideas and functionality.
Demonstrates the functionality of the final product, but looks different.
Looks like the final product, but is not functional.
Appearance and function match the final product, but is made with different manufacturing methods.
Appearance, function, and manufacturing methods match the final product.
We are pastors making a new kind of sermon library tool that will take the frustration out of your online sermon library.
Pastors - You spend hours every week on your sermons. Studying the text. Honing your ideas. Finding illustrations. Reading, praying and writing. Then you deliver those sermons to your congregation.
But you don’t want it to die there, so you put them online.
But here is the thing - keeping up with an online sermon library is a PAIN. Currently - you have two choices:
You can use an online sermon library service. These are expensive - plus you have to share space with hundreds of other preachers.
You can put your sermons on your website. This is tricky and you end up fighting bad software. Also, it’s tied to your website so if you change your site, you lose your sermon library.
Even at there best these things could be made much better. Why can’t you tie in your video sources from YouTube, Vimeo, etc.? What about manuscripts, searching, sorting, or series pages?
Simple Church Sermons is a new kind of sermon library tool. It works alongside your current website, providing a middle ground between a sermon library service and a sermons plugin for your cms.
You get an amazing interface for organizing your sermon content, very fast and affordable sermon media hosting, and a great looking sermons page with features you’d expect only the big guys to have and you get it for only $10 a month.
On top of sermons, that $10 a month gets you access to other tools we are creating. Like our unique prayer tool and our simple church service planning tool.
Help us get this going. You’ll lock down ridiculous prices and you can start building and sharing an amazing sermon library. You’ll also get an awesome Simple Church Tools t-shirt and free access to our other tools.
Please back us.
I’m Ryan Hayden. I’m the pastor at Bible Baptist Church in Mattoon, IL and I’m also a web developer who started an agency called Row & Table. I started Simple Church Tools because as a pastor, I didn’t think enough tools like this existed. At Row & Table, I make tools for the specific needs of businesses all the time. I wanted to create a company that focuses on the basic needs of every church.
We want to help as many churches as possible and once we’ve completed three tools, we plan letting every church choose one tool to use for free. We also plan on keeping our subscription cost low so that churches of any size can use Simple Church Tools.
But we need your help. Please back us so we can finish this thing fast and get it off the ground.
Risks and challenges
We've already completed the foundation of our subscription service and have had one tool (prayer) live and working for months. We are finishing up and testing the sermon tool now and have been laying the groundwork for the planner tool all along. This will get off the ground one way or another.
Currently, I'm using all of my profit from Row & Table and any time between projects to do this. The kickstarter campaign will allow us to focus on Simple Church Tools and to launch these tools faster.
