DESCRIPTION OF EVENT
This is a fundraiser run by indie filmmaker/author John Borowski to secure the Landmark Century Cinema Move Theatre in Chicago for a private screening of Bloodlines: The Art and Life of Vincent Castiglia.
At least 49 tickets must be sold to secure the 54 seat, theatre. If 70 tickets can be sold, then a larger capacity (144 seat) theatre can be secured to accommodate more people.
The tickets are $15 each and this secures you a seat. If you would like more than one ticket, just multiple the seat number by $15 and your additional tickets will be held under your name. As Kickstarter will not allow multiple quantity selection, if you contribute $30 or more towards tickets, we will make sure that the multiple tickets will be in your name and adjust the quantities.
If you cannot make the screening and would like to donate towards the cause, then you may select the $10 or $20 donations, which will go towards securing the theatre.
NO REFUNDS FOR TICKETS. If you cannot make the screening, then your ticket will be a donation to the cause. As this is an attempt to raise funds to pay for a theatre rental, the exact date of the screening is not known yet as the funds must be raised first to pay for the theatre, but the date for screening will be in mid to late August, aprox 30 days after the end of the fundraiser. The screening will take place on a WEEKNIGHT (Monday – Thursday at aprox 7:00pm) at the Landmark Century Cinema Move Theatre located in Chicago’s prestigious Lakeview/Lincoln Park neighborhood.
Please give the name(s) that the ticket(s) will be held under. We will check people in when they arrive at the theatre by the name given. Everyone will be updated on the exact screening date and time through Kickstarter.

The main perk is the ticket you receive to the film screening in Chicago. The other parks include an autographed postcard print of John Borowski, the original hangs in Borowski's studio and was painted in Borowski's own blood by the artist Castiglia. The other perk is an autographed DVD of one of Borowski's films to choose from: H.H. Holmes: America's First Serial Killer, Albert Fish; In Sin He Found Salvation, Carl Panzram: The Spirit of Hatred and Vengeance, Serial Killer Culture and Serial Killer Culture TV Season 1. Please make sure to give the name of the DVD you would like as well as a shipping address.
Vincent Castiglia paints in human blood. The haunting, yet beautiful, surreal images portray human bodies in various forms of decay. The reasons why Castiglia began painting in blood are explored in this emotional rollercoaster ride portrayed on film. The subject of art as a healing force is confronted in this documentary as Castiglia demonstrates that adversities can be overcome. From the darkness comes light. Castiglia’s story is one of inspiration and hope. Proof that art can heal and inspire others.
Starring: Gregg Allman, Margaret Cho, Damien Echols, Kerry King & Gary Holt (Slayer), Tom Gabriel Fischer (Triptykon), Martin Eric Ain (Celtic Frost), and many more!
RUNNING TIME: 91 Minutes, HD
Risks and challenges
THIS IS AN ALL OR NOTHING FUNDRAISER. This fundraiser has been created because Chicago area fans of filmmaker John Borowski & Vincent Castiglia have expressed an interest in seeing the film on the big screen before the film is released to DVD and VOD. Chicago lacks affordable indie screening film venues and this has forced award winning filmmaker John Borowski to 4 Wall (rent) a movie theatre. If the goal(s) are not met, then there will be no screening of Bloodlines.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
