About this project
ORE-SOME! is a frantic day in the mine played over 6 rounds of 2 phases each. The miner who makes the most money at the end of the day is declared the winner!
In the Move Phase, players move, ram and block each other for the best spots to dig. Rammed carts drop precious ore that can be swiped if you're quick and cunning!
In the Dig Phase, players take turns digging for, stealing or swiping dropped ore. Once they have the ore, they can sell it to the bank or rush to the Contract Agents to fill valuable contracts!
How to win!
In ORE-SOME you'll be playing Lewis, Zoe, Jessie or Doc Francis - miners pushing and pulling unreliable minecarts around a maze-like mine - competing to gather the most ore, fill the most contracts and ultimately earn the most gold in a single day!
First you'll build the mine.
Players will take turns placing mine tiles. There's normal tiles and a special tile for each player where you'll earn double if you dig there but no-one gets to place their own special tiles!
Everybody rolls a dice. Then you take turns moving your cart 1 to 3 tracks depending on the roll.
Don't like what you rolled? Hidden Springs, Whack the Lever, Oil Slick or Uphill can help you get where you want to be.
So can slamming into walls or, even better, other players!
Be careful! Any time ore drops from your cart it stays where it is and someone might swipe it before you can get back to it!
Watch your back! If other players hit you - you're shunted! You'll end up where you didn't want to be and if your cart's really full you'll drop a piece of ore too!
After moving, everyone takes turns working the tile they've ended up on.
On your turn you dig for ore: two on a normal tile, four on your special tiles! Keep your hands steady if your cart is bursting, the dropped ore rule still counts!
You can also (once!) pick up any ore on your tile - whether you dropped it or not!
You can also hand in contracts or sell to the Bank.
If you want to hand in contracts - you better have the right ore and be in range of the contract agents! They roam the mine looking for the player with the most ore, the least ore, the closest cart or the youngest player so you might need to hold on to that ore an extra turn or two. Or play it safe and sell to the bank for less cash...
At the end of your turn you can discard any cards you don't want and then fill your hand back up to five.
We've not even talked about Dynamite, Cave-ins, Jackpots, Pickaxes or Scraps, our adorable pup who'll ride around in your cart - protecting you from thieves and sabotage!

If we exceed the funding we need to make ORE-SOME a reality, we're ready to put that extra funding to work making it the best game we can. All we need is your help to do it!
What's more, the stretch goals will be unlocked from the combination of kickstarter pledges and retailer sales during the campaign!
You don't have to just take our word for it, look at all the lovely things people have said about ORE-SOME!

For our European and UK backers we will be shipping from within the EU with Games Quest so that you do not have to pay any customs charges. US and Australian backers have backer friendly shipping costs too and no custom charges either.
You are helping to bring One Free Elephant's very first game to life! The following people have worked hard to design and create the game:
Sarah Kennington, Designer & Project Manager
With help from her family, Sarah has designed, tested and refined ORE-SOME! from some scribbled notes to what you see today! She's also organised manufacturing, shipment, and all of the logistical issues of bringing ORE-SOME! to your door!
Justin Wyatt, Artist
All the tiles, card and tokens have been concepted and created by Justin's fair hand!
Colin Briggs, Modeller
Colin has created the 3d models that you see in the game - Scraps and the Cart itself as well as the excellent intro video to this kickstarter page!
Jason Kimmings, Graphic Design
The luxurious rulebook and enticing box base are Jason’s creations.
Jill McKirdy, Actor
Jill provided the voice-over for the intro video to this kickstarter!
Risks and challenges
I believe in this game.
As such I have already invested in the production of the mold for the components (the carts and Scraps, the cute little dog that can sit in them) and all of the digital and grapical art work - cards, tiles, 3D modelling, rulebook - everything!
Only the manufacturing costs are left - and this is where you, the backers help out!
My up-front investments means that I can keep the goal low, the pledge low and the production quality high, as well as keeping the manufacturing time low (for a kickstarter!) and to schedule.
As soon as the campaign finishes, I will be working with Longpack Games to start the production and we project that the games will be in to your hands in time for summer!
I know this seems ambitious, but I am an experienced project manager with extensive experience dealing with offshore suppliers and delivering to tight timescales.
With your help I am confident we can deliver ORE-SOME! on time!Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
