Why “kickstart” something that’s already been recorded?
— Great question. This particular campaign is more of a pre-order campaign, than a “please fund us” campaign(though we do need to hit a certain threshold amount to make it worthwhile). I am familiar with how Kickstarter works and it seems a more efficient way to catalog orders than soliciting through other social media outlets. If you just want the CD….then you’re paying what you would have paid for the product plus shipping if I had just taken orders via PayPal. But since ceasing Electric Six campaigns, there have been many many people who have expressed regret that they missed out on one last chance to have a go at exclusive access packages. So this method also allows one final chance for folks to “get in there” as well. Just want the music and none of the bells and whistles? You’re paying what you would have paid anyway….it’s a pre-order.
