About the Inferus Deck
Inferus Playing Cards are a new project I've been working on for a little while now. Inferus is the Latin translation for faceless. The entire deck revolves around that faceless theme. Also, this is actually a relaunch project for this deck of cards! Click here to see the original project page. There's a countless number of improvements that I've made to this campaign. The most important change I've made is the artwork. I've completely redesigned the entire deck, from the tuck box to the the pips. Another change from the the previous campaign to this one is that I've got all the artwork completely finished! Every card is already designed, along with the tuck box. I've worked closely with Lawrence Sullivan of the Legends Playing Card Co. (LPCC) They've approved all the artwork and they're looking forward to printing this deck! So now we just need the help of you to get this deck printed!
About Ourselves - Cartealliam
My name is Travis Carter and I'm a member of a group of magicians/cardists consisting of four people, including myself. The other three are Matthew Tully, Trevor Teague and William Rao. We call our group Cartealliam. We've all basically discovered the art of magic and cadistry within the last year, other than Trevor, who's been performing magic since he was a child. I've been passionate about art most of my life. I'm always taking on new artistic challenges and ever since I discovered the gigantic world of playing cards, I decided I wanted to join that world. I started learning about digital art programs such as Photshop and Adobe Illustrator and this is really the first digitally artistic thing I've ever done so I've been learning as I go. During the first campaign, I was still very new to digital art. However, I have now accustomed very well to it and am much more confident in this new deck rather than the last and I hope you guys will agree!
The Back Design
In my eyes, the back design has improved drastically from the original. I've added several different elements to it to make it pop a bit more. It looks very classy and elegant when fanned. Also, if you fan it both to the left and to the right, you will get two different looks! This back design also features two faceless heads.
The court cards are the main attachment to the faceless theme of the deck. All of the court cards have been stripped of their faces. I've customized them to match the main colors of the deck. I've also added some other elements to them to make them stand out a bit more from your traditional courts. They've turned out really nice and I hope you guys think the same!
The Pip Orientation and Suit Design
I've changed pretty much everything about the number cards from the original deck. I've created a new, more simple and elegant pip layout and I've even designed new pips that look a lot sleeker. Overall, I'm much more satisfied with these new designs!
These are the jokers in the Inferus Deck. The faceless theme continues throughout the deck onto the jokers. The first joker is holding two masks, deciding which personality he's going to wear. With the second joker, the masks have dissipated from his hands, symbolizing that he is no longer restrained by the choice he'd once had to make. There is also a seven of spades reveal in the dissipation.
As opposed to the previous campaign, I've completely customized all of the Aces! The Ace of Diamonds is still the main ace of the group, sporting the Inferus name. They've turned out beautiful and I can't wait to see the end product that LPCC will put out!
The Tuck Box
I wanted the tuck box to stand out from any other deck out there. This box will really stand out in your collection. The faceless theme continues throughout onto the box, featuring a faceless head on the front. The red details pop off of the grey background. Below, you will see the layers of detail that go into the box:
Above, you will see the Ink Layer of the tuck box for the Inferus deck. The ink is all the greys that you see. That is all the ink that will be printed onto the box.
Above, you will see the Foiling Layer of the tuck box for the Inferus deck. The foiling will be done in red. Foiling is a completely different process than the ink. The foil is actually stamped onto the box. LPCC will make a metal sheet based off of what is shown above and stamp it onto the tuck. Foil is basically a shiny substance and will really make this a high quality deck of cards along with the embossing as well.
Above, you will see the Embossing Layer of the tuck box for the Inferus deck. Embossing generally works the same as Foiling as far as the process goes. LPCC will make a metal sheet based off of this template and then stamp it onto the box. Embossing is a process that give a raised effect to the box, allowing you to actually feel the art.
Above, you will see the Interior Ink Layer of the tuck box for the Inferus deck. LPCC will flip the front of the tuck box over, and print this on the opposite side (inside) of the tuck box. It will be completely red on the inside of the box. With all of these extras added to the box, it will make for an extremely nice product! But I will need your help in making this happen. Our funding goal is $8,000 USD. The stretch goal for these additions are $9,000 USD for the Embossing and Foiling and $9,500 USD for the Interior Printing. With your help and support, we can easily make those happen!
Manufacturing and Fulfillment
Manufacturing:Just like the previous campaign, Inferus Playing Cards will still be manufactured by the Legends Playing Card Co. (LPCC) I will be using their Diamond Finish. This company, in my opinion, is hands down the best playing card company around alongside it's close companion, Expert Playing Card Co. (EPCC) I believe, with their high precision printing and cutting abilities, they trump the industry standard decks you see coming out of the United States Playing Card Co. (USPCC) Lately, LPCC has been pushing out the best decks of cards out there. I have absolutely no worries that they will produce a wonderful deck of cards for all of you backers!
Fulfillment: In the previous campaign, I announced that I would be shipping the decks out myself. Well, this time around I've decided that all fulfillment will be through Legends Playing Card Co. as well! And since they will be fulfilling all the orders, I've decided that I can offer free shipping WORLDWIDE! I have no worries that LPCC will have any issues with fulfillment. They've fulfilled many other projects with ease. I can promise that these decks will make it into your hands!
PROTOTYPE DECK REWARD TIER:
I personally own three prototypes of Inferus Playing Cards. And I'm selling all three of them here in this campaign! These prototypes will come with a tag tied to the box. The tag says Inferus Prototype and will numbered __ / 3. It also features my signature and will dated. Finally, it will also be stamped with a custom Cartealliam stamp in red. The box will also be numbered and dated as shown above and will also feature my signature. The first prototype out of three does not feature the window in the box like the others, however.
I will be shipping these prototypes out to the lucky three that get a chance to acquire these!

Risks and challenges
This is a relaunch of the original campaign and I am MUCH more confident about this one. Since we have LPCC fulfilling all of our orders, there should be no problems with you guys receiving your rewards! In summary, the campaign last about a month. Then after the campaign ends, it takes about 2-3 weeks to receive all the funds. I will send out the surveys to you all to get your addresses. I will be sending them all the artwork so they can go to print. The manufacturing will take around 2-3 months. Then, once they're finished printing, they will begin to ship out your decks! I am extremely confident that LPCC will do an AMAZING job with fulfillment and printing. I personally own decks manufactured by LPCC and I absolutely love the look and feel of the product they put out. I have no doubt that they will do a great job with the decks.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
