Hello everyone! Thank you for taking the time to view this project. This album is nearly finished and I am so excited to share this music with you all! Let me tell you a little bit about it.
The Moon Has Strange Ears:
My first full length studio record, The Moon Has Strange Ears, features a diverse collection of compositions. Drawing influences from jazz, classical, and folk musics, and artists such as Bela Fleck, Mark O'Connor, Thelonius Monk, The Books, and Ben Sollee, the twelve tracks feature pieces for solo cello, cello and guitar, cello and trumpet, and string quintet.
The recording was primarily done at The Pine Street Church in downtown Boulder, CO, capturing the depth and warmth of the cello with a lush, natural room sound. Additional recording and mixing was done at UI Sound Studios. http://uisoundstudios.wordpress.com/
The album features fantastic performances by Ryan Spencer, trumpet; Paul Russell, guitar; Allegra Michael and Rachel Sliker, violin; Alex Vittal, viola; and Pysche Dunkhase, cello.
This project also features lots of additional multimedia content. I plan on releasing a majority of the content digitally only. This digital content will feature art by photographer Paul Zastrocky and video artist Julie Rooney (http://www.julierooney.com/), as well as a music video by Blayne Chastain of Tekoa Films.
What Your Donation Backs:

How You Can Help:
I hope that you will become a part of this project by donating, and help to create an amazing album.
This is an all or nothing campaign, meaning if I don't meet the funding goal in the allotted time, I receive no funding at all. So I ask for your help in making this project and idea a reality by donating or by telling all your music loving friends about this page and project.
Risks and challenges
Many of the risks or challenges for a project like this have already been overcome. The recording and mixing has been completed, and this kickstarter will fund the final stages of mastering the tracks and producing the physical copies of the album.
Several challenges that still remain are finding a good design for the physical cds and finding a successful way to present the digital side of the album. If this project is funded I plan on working with a web designer to find a unique and interactive way to present this media (photos, videos etc.) online.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
