Funds raised will pay for director and cast when Raving Native Productions returns to the Minneapolis Fringe after a few years hiatus. We have always promised you Native theater without beads, feathers, flutes or drums. Bring the Children Home is no different. It is a story of people's search for meaning and identity in a world gone crazy. Written by playwright Marcie Rendon, it is a timeless story brought to life at a site-specific venue, the Minneapolis American Indian Center, in the heart of the MInneapolis Indian Community.
Risks and challenges
The MN Fringe is a lottery - unless one finds a venue that agrees to a site-specific show. I side-stepped the lottery and asked to be site-specific. Raving Native Productions (me) put up the $250 Fringe fee. The Mpls American Indian Center agreed to be the venue. Raving Native Productions has a script, a director; we have a cast, we have a site and now we need some funds to put the show up. The director and cast need to be paid. There is an hourly fee at the Indian Center that I need to cover. It is always an unknown whether the take at the door will cover any of these expenditures. The show will go up. I hope to be able to pay director and cast.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
