50 Worst Dates™ is a party game designed for 4-6 players that's all about taking the worst dating experiences and turning them into a fun and irreverent jokes.

If you liked games like Apples to Apples or Cards Against Humanity, you'll love 50 Worst Dates.

There are three things that separate 50 Worst Dates™ from other board and card games.

-No one has to sit out at any point during 50 Worst Dates™. Each person plays every single round no matter what.

-Because we use two decks with unique cards no two games are alike. There's hundreds of combinations ranging from compelling to god-awful, but we'll let you discover them for yourselves.

A little taste of what to expect

-Finally our game is relatable, like scary relatable. We've all been on some terrible dates but realizing you've gone out with some of the cards in our game is part of the experience.

1. Before the game begins shuffle the Date Deck and the Trait Deck, be careful not to mix the two decks together. Give each player a voting token, they will use this token every round to help determine who wins the points for that round.

2. The game starts with the player who was last on a date. Play then progresses around the table clockwise for the rest of the game.

3. Players begin each turn by laying two cards face down, one date and one trait. Players don’t have to wait for anyone to do this but once you’ve laid your two card combination down you can’t lay another.

4. Once every player has laid a two card combination face down the player whose turn it is, is responsible for moving the piles of two around so that no one can tell which pile belongs to which player.

5. Once this is accomplished the combinations are flipped face up one at a time and read aloud by the person whose turn it is.

6. When each combination has been read aloud each player gets to place their voting token on the pile they believe is the best “worst date” out of all the available options.

7. The player who gained the most votes gains points equal to the value on the two cards they played. For example if Sally played the combination of “Sweaty Iceroad Trucker” and “Saves used condoms” she would score the total points printed on each of those two cards.

8. Everyone else scores points equal to the number of votes they received.

9. After the voting is completed the winning player or players score points accordingly. Then each player draws one trait and one date card. The game then progresses to the next player clockwise.

10. The game goes on until one person reaches, or surpasses 50   points.

50 Worst Dates™ started on Kyle Ott's couch at 2 AM after marathon weekends of Cards Against Humanity™ and some awful dates. Kyle had a simple idea to make a game that combined all the things he loved about Cards except everyone played every single round. Over the course of a few weeks Kyle cobbled together a crude prototype using some index cards, scotch tape, and his uncle's printer. With a final touch of magic marker 50 Worst Dates™ was born.

The next thing he knew he was showing it to a couple friends, then a couple more friends, then to some local conventions. Before he knew what was happening 50 Worst Dates™ had take on a life of its own. But Kyle couldn't take the game to publication by himself. So he recruited some people to help him. His good friend Larry agreed to do web design. His little brother Kollin was pursuing a degree in finance, and his friends Jess and Kathleen were learning how to manage web content at Syracuse University.

Together they teamed up and made a game they were proud of, a game they could take to the rest of the world. Now after months of development and tweaking the fate of 50 Worst Dates™ rests on its fans.

Risks and challenges

The biggest problem we face right now is finding time to meet all the demand for our game! Just kidding.
In reality our biggest hurdle is the size of our team. We're a small 5 person outfit right now. But the enthusiasm of our team, coupled with our love for the product were making has helped us overcome plenty of adversity already.
