Swag surveys, our new office, and hardware progress

Swag surveys

For those that pledged for jumping jacks, decals, t-shirts, or hoodies, you should have received an email from Kickstarter.  This email contains a survey to collect your shipping and/or sizing information.  Please respond by November 6th so we can guarantee availability and delivery.  Also, women's sizes are available for the t-shirt, so if you want to request a women's S, M, or L t-shirt, please email us at

Our new office

After searching through over a dozen locations for just the right space, we found it with our friends at Double Robotics in Sunnyvale, CA.  This will be the headquarters for the design, prototyping, and production of your boards.  We packed up and moved all of our parts and tools from Techshop in San Jose, our home for the summer and where our first prototypes were built.  Once things are set up, we'll have pics and video to show you our new space!

Hardware progress

The remote control, which was just a CAD model and some quick prototypes before, is taking shape... literally.  We 3D-printed a few versions based on the design renderings, and so far they feel great in our hands!  We're simultaneously working on the electronics inside the remote, which should begin testing in a few weeks.  As soon as we have a working prototype, we'll show you and get your feedback!

We'll also be updating you as we work on different parts like the battery, electronics, mechanical design, and others, so stay tuned.

Thank you again for making this possible

Sure, you may have heard plenty through email and social media, but we just wanted to say thanks again for your continued support.  We're incredibly excited to be working on this project and to share it with all of you.  And to our dedicated fans who pushed for the $500k stretch goal at the end, a special thanks for your enthusiasm.  We can't promise anything yet, but we're still looking into the possibility of that fast-swappable battery pack!

      @Dave, I don't think we'll be doing tours of our space (for several reasons), but we'll definitely post some pictures for everyone.

      @Dmitry, @Mårten, we're testing several different designs for the remote, the motors, and other systems. Once these are set, we'll let you know.

      @Craig, thanks!

      Will the throttle be retractive (with a spring) or will it stay in its set position if I let it go?

      Curious, have you guys considered in-the-wheel brushless outrunner motor design?

      I work in Sunnyvale! Are you guys ever going to host a tour of your new space? :)
