    8. Boosted Boards Creator on June 2, 2014

We are still not certified to ship internationally.

We have had meetings with 2 labs in the last couple weeks getting ready for certification. There are still several more requirements we need to meet before we can complete the testing.

This will be one of the top priorities for us. Unfortunately I still don't have a timeline for you yet.

We'll keep you updated as soon as we know more!

    9. Shinji Namura on May 30, 2014

Received board yesterday and it blew my son and myself away! Awesome tech and well made. Wish the hand controller had a lanyard or an attachment point for one. Exceeded all expectations and was definitely worth the wait. Thanks!!

    11. Toby Segaran on March 8, 2014

So much fun! Thank you. It was a long wait but well worth it. Who needs snow in Tahoe when I have this for the streets of SF!

    12. Boosted Boards Creator on March 7, 2014

There are a small number of boards with an orange LED on it. Red means charging, Orange is fully charged or "On" and ready to ride. Most of the boards now have a green LED for "On" and charging to make it clearer. Nothing else is different, just the colors.

    13. Ken on March 7, 2014

Wow just got my board- luv it. I couldn't quite get up my hill but maybe it's because I didn't charge it yet . Too excited I just wanted to ride.
I was able to navigate the smaller hills with Sammy power though.
One thing - if I did need to charge it the battery indicator on the remote may not have given me the correct charge level. It said I was fully boosted- will update this another day with a two hour charge (the charger could use some indicators - the board light was orange.. Not sure what this means).
I wanted to go through the advanced training but the page doesn't seem to be available yet.
Still love it so far and Sammy power sure likes the exercise!

Got my board this morning! It actually beat the email that said it shipped -:] Me and a friend took it out for a spin at lunch and were blown away! So fun. Took it out later in the day and let a few more people ride it and everyone loved it whether they rode it or just watched us. No one was willing to try the fast mode but were amazed at how fast it hauled my 210lbs around the parking lot.

    15. Royce Kim on March 4, 2014

Also a second batch backer; I eagerly await this updated shipping schedule.

I am officially boosted! Woo!!! Thank you Boosted team. Just opening the package I felt a sense of value and quality from the exterior of the box to the product itself. I find myself having to keep calm and regain composure as I indulge in my new toy like a young toddler would, and making sure I follow the directions for safety and product knowledge. Thank you again! I am officially boosted!!!

We've shipped production units to all beta testers (writing an update on that right now with photos) and some first batch backers, and we have more boards for first batch ready to ship out but waiting a couple more days on a firmware update.

Got the email and submitted my address but it didn't ask for the flex on the board? Are you guys still asking for that or is it just standard to a flex 2 or 3?

    25. Kris on January 19, 2014

Regardless of the trade-offs one company chooses over those of another, it's good to see more companies getting into electric boards. It will hopefully increase the rate of innovation of the specialized technology needed to make it more widely accepted, and reduce our dependency on traditional modes of transportation which are crowding our cities and choking our air.

Just got a reply from Sanjay about EU backers, and thought I should relay the info:

The charger cord is fixed on these first units, so you'll need a plug adapter to charge with 220V EU sockets. The charger itself is 220V compatible, so you'll just need the adapter, not a converter.
For almost everyone we've recommended the Flex 3 deck. We have some 100kg test riders and they like the Flex 3. Sturdiness is not an issue, as the board has been run over by a car with no issues.
Thanks for the email. Let me know if you have any questions!

    28. Kris on January 12, 2014

Looks reasonable for long flat straight rides, but too many trade offs for the cheaper price. Less power for inclines, single wheel drive likely resulting in more belt slippage and uneven wear and tear on the motor and mount when carving, loose cable underneath connecting the bulk to the drive, and the bulk of its mass is in the center of the board where the flex of the deck is meant to be. The picture tells more than the spec sheet. I like how Boosted is made by skateboarders who are engineers, not an RC company that may or may not know skateboards.

I don't recall ever submitting a flex choice, will mine be determined based on the survey sent a year ago? I am a new rider at 185 lbs. and will using it mainly for cruising. So is a flex 3 or getting a 2 and breaking it in work better for me? Thanks guys! Looking forward to getting the board soon!

Yes, we're in the middle of testing a few different engraving methods.

@Boosted - It's been a while since the last update, how are things coming along?

    36. Boosted Boards Creator on October 29, 2013

      @Toby, we're figuring out pickup/shipping right now.

    37. Toby Segaran on October 28, 2013

Can backers who live in San Francisco pick up the board in person? (I'm in the first batch)

    38. Boosted Boards Creator on October 11, 2013

      Thanks, Martin!

      1. The new batteries weigh slightly more than our old ones since we used a safer battery chemistry and a very rugged battery enclosure. Our current units weigh about 14.5 pounds, but we're still finalizing the weight of a few parts.

      2. Yes, we've been carrying the boards on as hand luggage with no problems at all. It fits great in the overhead bins!

@jeremy no, you'll just have to suffer like everyone else. Starting to reach my boiling point as I don't think we will be receiving them till October if we are lucky. Maybe they'll surprise me on my birthday...

    48. Dan McDonley on July 13, 2013

@Martin Those laws are definitely on the books in CA, but are pretty antiquated. I have been riding the Beta Board since April and put over 300 miles on it. I regularly pass by cops and have never been stopped or had a problem. Stay in the bike lanes and off the sidewalks and you likely won't either. Someone may have to challenge this law at some point but for now it appears unenforced.
