New Stretch Goals and Optional Purchases!

So later tonight became late afternoon Haha!

Here are some details on the new Stretch Goals:
@ 425k we have 2 new Rat and Elemental Captains

@ 450k we have a brand new race of Minions and Captains, the Cyclops! Some races don't get along very well, and hopefully you will see from the Cyclops' weapons that they have an interesting history with the Elementals.

@ 475k we have a new Mini Boss: A Minotaur!

@ 500k we bring in the Metal Tokens for your Hero Board slots, and special colored Coins for your MYTH treasure bag.

Beyond this, we have some great new Optional Purchases as well:

First, we have regular sized card sleeves for 5 bucks. These can accommodate cards from other various decks in the game beyond the Heroes. A pack of smaller item card sized sleeves are available for 5 dollars as well.

Finally we a fantastic new add-on; two custom cut trays offered by BattleFoam! These trays will are sized to fit inside of your MYTH game box and will hold the assembled models and components from the game.

The card sleeves appear to be at the right price point. I'll pick up a couple.

@Adam Yes, just add on all the money you want to throw at them for addons and later on after the kickstarter is finished you will get to fill out in the reward manager thingy what you want :)

    3. Adam Harding on April 22, 2013

This is probably a stupid question, but I'm relatively new to Kickstarter and am still trying to find my way around.
How do you obtain the "Optional purchases" mentioned above? Do you need to adjust your pledge level and then mention what you want somewhere, or will it be an option available in the upcoming Myth Pledge/Reward Manager? (I forget the proper name, sorry.)

Roy Mikaelsson on April 22, 2013

@Nyren I think that is correct but the cost for sleeves and trying to count the number of cards since the answer from MERCS just gave me a headache, I skip them.

    5. Naomi Nabbit on April 22, 2013

So, if one were to purchase the game at the Captain/Apprentice level and add in the Treasure pack, the Quest pack, and the Elemental miniboss, how many sleeves are needed? Is that:

125 Large (base + current stretch goals)
110 Small (base + current stretch goals)
+10 Large (for rat boss when we hit 400k)
      +30 Large(?) (for Quest expansion)
      +30 Small (for Treasure expansion)
      +10 Large (for Elemental Boss)

= 175 Large, 140 Small total. So, we'd need four packs of large sleeves and three packs of small sleeves. Is that right? I'm assuming that new races and mini-bosses don't come with cards.

I want to know if only the core game will fit in the battlefoam foam. Is there any additional place for kickstarter add-ons ?

    8. C on April 21, 2013

@Tony: You can also make your own plastic miniature storage box by taking a boardgame (or other shallow box with a lid) and sticking the figures with sticky tack to the bottom. This only works for plastic miniatures with flat bases (eg. Myth, HeroQuest, Reaper Bones, not GW slottabases), and you don't want to store the box on its side or upside-down. You can add pieces of foam or whatever to further protect the miniatures.

@Mike Great, thanks Mike, in line with what I thought. Guess I will be increasing my pledge :)

    10. C on April 21, 2013

@Tony: Make your own storage cases. All you need is a box and some foam from a crafts store. Plastic miniatures, especially if you don't base (or paint!) them are much less fragile than metal ones.

    11. Mike Callahan on April 21, 2013

@robin - you don't need more dice, but some like to have them to spread around the table. Quest deck adds new stories, acts and chapters that are not in the vase game,... The treasure deck provides more character specific items which includes the trickster and the skald.

robin blackwell on April 21, 2013

@MERCS is it possible to get an understanding about the impact some of the extras will have in the game? I understand thinks like the Skald but I'm not clear what the extra adventure and treasure decks bring to the game. Also, thinking about the extra dice but not clear of situations where I would need more than are in the core box. Can you help explain please :)

Please give us an answer how many sleeves we need for the quest expansion and item expansions.

I guess the 125/110 is WITH all the boss cards that are included in the stretch goals?

    16. Missing avatar

      Matt S on April 21, 2013

@Micah They have already said that the sizes are Standard US and Mini US sizes.

    17. Micah Rose on April 21, 2013

@MERCS Any confirmation on card sizes? Big and small doesn't tell me a whole lot. I also like the the idea of "enough sleeves to sleeve [captain, apprentice, etc.]". The "enough" sleeves options should have a slight volume discount. People will still add sleeves for the add-ons.

    18. Tony Brown
      on April 21, 2013

We really should catch the $425k stretch to fix the double lair-captain shortage issue for rats & elementals. But......the next stretch causes the problem again for Cyclops faction.

    19. Missing avatar

      Matt S on April 21, 2013

@Justin To get sleeves for the Skald you will have to get the add-on for them ($5).

    20. Almighty Cow on April 21, 2013

I just scanned through old updates and couldn't find the post dealing with this question, perhaps the community can help me out?

Do all our heroes come with deck sleeves? I'm pretty sure Merc said the Trickster does but what about the Skald? I'm not huge on card sleeves, but want, at least, all my hero decks covered. Thanks!

    23. MERCS Miniatures 5-time Creator on April 21, 2013

@David Oh, Keith... Those are mock ups. He is an art guy.

We have some checks built into our production. The final text for every card will be checked by seven people. That doesn't make it foolproof, but it does make it better than sample card images thrown up on KS to make sure people have an idea what cards look like done by the art guy without editorial involved. :D

    24. Jedra7609
      on April 21, 2013

@MERC - I second the comment from Tony Brown and others. A simple table showing the pledge levels and the number of sleeves that are NOT included would be great. Maybe when you add heroes/cards as options you could then add a with sleeves/without sleeves option for each. OK.late in the day now but as long as we have some time after it closes to adjust our pledges to get the requisite amount of sleeves that should be OK!

For those that don't sleeve their cards this may seem petty, but those of use that do will understand the obsessive requirement to know the answers to these questions!!!

@MERCS - Brian, for a guy with a degree in English Literature, there sure are a lot of spelling mistakes in your promo art! ;) 'Viscious'?! I'm guessing you'll blame one of the art guys, right? :D Don't worry, I have every faith the final versions will have been sufficiently scrutinised.

    26. Tony Brown
      on April 21, 2013

@MERC - I would ask that you itemize the # of cards by type & size please. Also indicate # & size for expansions. I would hate to order not enough sleeves or go way over board.

For example your rough count you mentioned about 110 mini card sleeves needed for captain, but the box component list says there are 120 mini sized treasure cards, and we haved touched the Quest cards yet (game component graphic shows treasure & quests to be the same size.

A chart sorted with pledge level & by add-ons would be awesome. Please. Please.Please.

    27. Francesco A. Accomando on April 21, 2013

@MERCS you said: "At the Captain level you'll need 125 Large and 110 small at this point." is this hero deck excluded? Could you break down the number to make us more comfortable please?

    28. Francesco A. Accomando on April 21, 2013

How many cards are in the quest expansion deck and tresure expansion deck?

    29. Tony Brown
      on April 21, 2013

@ Apprentice I will have about 150 sculpts (not including any unlocked stretch goals). MERCs comment about "The battlefoam inserts at this point hold all the base game and 20 more figures. We are working on a solution to find a home for the other miniatures. No option is off the table." has me worried.
The base game is only 41 scuplts. So with base + 20 scupts, I'm to 61 slots. It looks like I would need at least 3 sets of Battlefoam, and then that doesn't even take into consideration if the slots in the foam accomodate the scupts size/shape needs.

    30. Florence Chambert on April 21, 2013

+1 for an option "enough sleeves for the game"

    31. C on April 21, 2013

@Kevin: Yes and no. Amazon needs time for backers to provide them a credit card number which works correctly, then you have whatever time your credit card company has to pay off your bill. Reaper allowed additional pledge money to be paid when backers filled out their pledge managers. Of course, many of the extras will be available retail, so you can always buy them through your OLGS.

    32. Mark Pond
      on April 21, 2013

Hmm, we need need 125 Large and 110 small sleeves for the base game.
But how much do we need for the Treasure Deck and the Quest Expansion?

    33. Will Baker on April 21, 2013

I love the battlefoam inserts. I have both the Super Dungeon Explore and Zombicide battlefoam inserts and I just upped my pledge for the Myth one! I really hope we unlock the 500K stretch goal and if not make it a pay option. I love the idea of metal in the game!

    34. Kevin Smith on April 20, 2013

I'm sure I know the answer to this already, but will it be at all possible to add any of the "optional purchases" after the end of the kickstarter but before delivery? My gaming budget has hit its limit for the moment.

    35. MERCS Miniatures 5-time Creator on April 20, 2013

@Robert We actually have very solid expansions we are working on. The additional minions backers are unlocking are not repeated, but do educate the environments we'll be visiting. They are very cool and can't wait to discuss them with you as the base game is shipping.

We won't get into too much detail. Must take care of the task in front of us before we tackle the next. ;)

    36. MERCS Miniatures 5-time Creator on April 20, 2013

The battlefoam inserts at this point hold all the base game and 20 more figures. We are working on a solution to find a home for the other miniatures. No option is off the table.

    37. MERCS Miniatures 5-time Creator on April 20, 2013

We'll make sure the Battlefoam stuff fits well. We've worked with them before and know how to get the best out of our arrangement.

    38. Louissimon on April 20, 2013

I love how the minotaur looks ancient, as if it has already lived through many confrontation with heroes and survived them all. He is a great foe who looks down on us, just another group of adventrurer who dares defy him.

    39. MERCS Miniatures 5-time Creator on April 20, 2013

At the Captain level you'll need 125 Large and 110 small at this point.

For the metal hero tokens: Can you make those double-sided, with one side for each figure? Come to think of it, can you do that for the cardboard ones in the base set?
Also, will we get tokens for the Trickster and Skald?

    45. Nicole Persram on April 20, 2013

Yeah, it would be nice to know how many cards are in the base game, and then how many cards are in each add-on so you can figure out how many sleeves of each type you'll need...

Love the cyclops too! They work very well with the slightly cutesy art of the world of Myth. Any chance of them being optional purchase if we do not unlock them? Them and their lairs please... Caves?

    47. Jedra7609

With regard to the card sleeves, I would just like to see an option that says 'enough sleeves for all the cards'. I am having difficultly getting my old withered brain to work out what I need! Worse case scenario is that I don't pledge for enough and end up having to sleeve them all with Mayday or similar anyway!

    48. Stephen Cowart on April 20, 2013

@MERCS - just have to ask, are you guys saving anything for future expansions? I do not mind geting everything now , but I am really digging this game/setting from all the videos I have seen and would like to give you cash for years to come in expansions. Especially people from my home state! probably the best thing to come out of Indiana in a long time!

    50. Nicholas Kinsman on April 20, 2013

Heh. Well, you guys are nothing but optimistic at this point. :)
