Last week we got picked up by a couple of great sites including boingboing and laughing squid. We are pushing hard on getting some real media traction but it's an uphill battle. I have a new found respect for people in media relations.
Getting media attention after a campaign is well underway is a substantial challenge. But we do see a potential opportunity with the current mass media obsession with spinners.
Last month the spinners fad was everywhere in the news taking over from other fidget devices. In recent weeks the discussion has turned to concerns over spinners' dangerously high velocity and the lack of actual fidgeting (you spin it and then the fidgeting is over for a while).
While still highlighting the unique way CLICKEYbits fidgets, we are now juxtaposing it with a different class of fidget toy by positioning CLICKEYbits as a better choice over spinners. Articles that end with a "What's Next" or "Solutions" paragraph can point to CLICKEYbits as the future and an alternative to all spinners.
Our campaign funding trend line is too flat, if we are going to get to goal we need to reach a wider audience. We don't know if this following-the-media-trends message adjustment will work but we are going to give it our best shot.
Thank you again for being a supporter of CLICKEYbits.
