Tragic Tales of Horrere is back!
Welcome brave reader, you've dared to set foot in the right haunted mansion (Kickstarter). We've been expecting you and we promise to make your stay a MEMORABLE one.
For the very first time we're combining issues 1 & 2, the Halloween special and the Horrere Presents one-shot Laudanum into one stunning trade paperback collection!
This brand-new book is a must have for anyone with a love of Horror comics or just a love of Horror in general and acts as a fantastic jumping on point to get fully up to date with the anthology.
Created and curated by Alisdair Wood, Michael Sambrook and Rob Jones, Tragic Tales of Horrere is a love letter to all things Horror. An over-stuffed collection of the spooky, disorientating and surprising in the tradition of classic horror comic anthologies like Eerie, Scream and Creepshow.
These spooky tales have been bound by dark magic and contained for your enjoyment within the 120+ pages of this demonic tome. If you're brave enough to peek inside you'll find demonic babies in bell-jars, Bigfoot, Lovecraftian horrors, confused professors, tombs that should have remained firmly sealed and much, much more. This collection is a wonderful blend of all things horror from the vague and psychological, to the spooky and the ghostly, and of course a healthy dose of blood-soaked gore too for good measure. If it's horror, it's in here. We'll take you to the places where the line blurs between our world and the other side.
Tragic Tales of Horrere will delight and disturb you in equal measure.
Contained within this monstrous TPB is stunning art from the blood soaked hands of Alisdair Wood, Alastair McLauchlan, Gareth Sleightholme, Neil Ford, Alexa Renee, Joe Becci and Diego Simone, with pin-ups from Ian McQue, Dean Hopkins, Russell MacEwan and more. And with stories from the depraved minds of writers Rob Jones, Michael Sambrook, Mat Pringle and Luis Roldan Torquemada that will chill you to your very core.
Now, you've heard about the stories, but what about the product itself? Well:
- The trade paperback is presented with black and white interiors at standard US comic size and features a full colour cover.
- It clocks in at 128 pages.
- We'll send you digital versions of the trade in .pdf format so you can get your horror fix on the go, in the bath, on the toilet and also on your tablet, PC or smartphone.
Beautifully rendered by "Grimoire" artist and co-creator, Alisdair Wood, these two book-plate style prints feature key monsters from the series.
We will also have limited A4 commissions available from Gareth Sleightholme, Alexa Renee & Neil Ford as well as exclusive painted pieces from series curator, Alisdair Wood. These tiers are EXTREMELY LIMITED so make sure to act quick if you want one. Below is a look at the two Alisdair Wood paintings on offer and a look at some of Alexa, Neil and Gareth's work to get an idea of what your commissions could look like.
"A fabulously eclectic buffet of every horror subgenre you can imagine, all lacquered with a glaze of treacle-black humour. If you like being scared witless then Horrere is the early Christmas present your body needs." - Alex Paknadel (Friendo, Incursion, Arcadia)
"scary fun - a perfect Halloween treat."- Monty Nero (death sentence, hollow monsters)
"The stories in Horrere tap into a rich vein of modern anxieties and fears and, like the best horror, hold up a mirror to the mundane world and make us realise that the genre is not just about things that go bump in the night and terrify us, but also about what makes us human. Horror comics are very much (and paradoxically) alive and kicking with Horrere." - David M Barnett (Punks not dead, Calling Major Tom)
"creative ideas and art is fun, and entertaining enough to draw you in and keep you there." - Starburst Magazine
"a dry sense of humour that balances out the obligatory mix of chills, twists, blood and guts." - Pipedream Comics
"The...stories within Horrere are very different and that’s reflected in the art styles more than anything else as they capture the unexpected, the gruesome, the haunting & the horror that this...release aims to capture [and] raises the bar higher than you may have been expecting..." - Comics Anon
"Tragic Tales of Horrere is quickly becoming a go-to horror anthology comic, filling the void left from the likes of Creepy and Eerie. This indie title is packed to the brim with quality horror shorts showcasing an impressive array of talent." - Horror Talk
"There's a pleasing gut-punch to each, and the range of artwork is as varied as it is superb" - Comic Heroes
