Le Collektor Hoodies

We are turning the rarefied world of art collecting on its head by attaching it to everyone's favorite everyday gear — the hoodie — so that creatively-minded individuals everywhere can be collektors, curators and patrons of the arts. 10% of the retail price of every artist-designed piece goes directly to artists. We invite our backers to join us in building a new kind of art market that creates endless possibilities for artists and makes their fans movable galleries, bringing art everywhere they go.
Living in New York City, it’s almost impossible to not be inspired by art and the artists creating it. It’s everywhere, from the brick walls of the Bronx to the white walls of Chelsea galleries. Regardless of where it hangs, art is about self-expression and the power of ideas. We wanted to bring the democracy and universality inherent in that art to streets everywhere. Changing up a streetwear classic — the hoodie — seemed the best way to do it. We started talking to artists and hoodie aficionados who wanted to help us bring the idea to life, and now ten months later, we’re poised to make it a reality.
Our inaugural collection of art hoods was designed by some of our favorite artists, whose work can spotted all over from streets to galleries: Nick Gazin, EWOK, Sonni, Drury Brennan, Joseph Meloy, Chris Uphues, and our very own creative director, David R. Head, Jr.
- Sublimated printing gives our artists a new canvas — allowing their clothing prints to be just as rich in color as their original work
- Gives you a new way to exhibit your art collection
- 10% of the price of any artist-designed piece goes directly to our artists so every purchase makes you a patron of the arts.
We know our hoods will make you stand apart, but we also wanted our hoodie to be your favorite. After lengthy reviews of every other hoodie out there, we worked with Bleick Studio in LA to develop a premium hoodie that combines the best of them all.
Made from soft, extra warm, custom-knit fleece with flat-locked seams for added durability, your Le Collektor hoodie is built to last. We put in everything we could think of from a port for your headphone wires to a bomber collar that lets you wear your jacket without a hood if you feel like mixing it up. One jacket + lots of hoods = wearing the same jacket everyday but looking like you're not.
Available in heather charcoal and navy blue.
Available in men's sizes S, M, L, XL. All hoods are one size fits all.
We've already invested in developing these hoodies and doing a sample production run. For the idea to work at scale, we need to hit our suppliers' minimums to put in a production order. The money you pledge will go directly toward manufacturing Le Collektor hoodies and art hoods, which includes everything from the cut/make/trim/dye process, shipping, and packaging. If we're able to stretch our funding goal, we'll also be able to develop new art hoods and new jacket designs (camo print! pullovers!). We have lots more artists signed up who would love to start exhibiting their work.
We're offering great rewards to our backers and first collektors and appreciate any support you can offer! We'll email you for your size, color and artist selections.
The three of us are art lovers working in New York City. Amisha Patel* is a designer and social entrepreneur who once went to law school to be an art dealer. David R Head Jr is an artist and freelance art director who got his start plastering Austin and Chicago with his screen printed punk rock posters. Rishi Patel* is a tech entrepreneur and a hoodie aficionado who once painted a very provocative portrait of his favorite blue suede shoes.
* Amisha and Rishi are not married or related. They're just friends who share a very common Indian last name.
Message us here or email us at info@lecollektor.com with any questions or comments you have about our campaign, our hoodies, or about us! If you're in the neighborhood and want to say hi in real life, we're based out of The Yard LES at 85 Delancey Street.
Risques et défis
We are currently on track to complete our first small production run of hoodies by mid-November. Unforeseeable production delays or foreseeable huge demand from our backers on Kickstarter might delay receiving your hoodie by a few weeks from the promised date. Amisha has worked on production in 13 different countries for her other brands and is relieved that Le Collektor is made in L.A. - just a short flight away in case she needs to regulate.
