"The Girl Can Cook" is a collection of songs that resonate with people of all ages from children to seniors. Its themes are fun and heartfelt. The album will feature 10 original songs all written by Travis. The pure Americana music will consist of engaging vocals from the duo, hot guitar work from Travis and of course percussion and that kazoo that makes you smile from Becky.
The Time Burners is a husband & wife Americana music duo from Lincoln, NE. We met playing music in our high school years and we've been together ever since. Our musical experience over the years has allowed us to play a vast array of venues and events all over the Midwest. While paying our dues and learning the roots of music, we played in an award winning band called Travis & the Flamekats. We also had the good fortune to share the stage and learn from some blues greats such as Magic Slim, Nick Holt, Duke Robillard & Shemekia Copeland.
The Time Burners have played a large variety of shows including several major events like the Nebraska State Fair, Iowa State Fair, Omaha Summer Arts Festival, Arts On The Plaza Concert Series, Nebraska Farm Bureau Foundation Grower's Gala, Apple Jack Festival and Vala's Pumpkin Patch. Travis and Becky have played all kinds of venues including the legendary Surf Ballroom in Clear Lake, IA. Our family-friendly shows allow us to entertain and bring smiles to folks of all ages. The Time Burners are also a nominee for the 2017 Omaha Entertainment and Arts Awards as the best Americana/Folk group.
Our love of old music that has meaning is something that has stuck with us and continues to blossom as we mature musically. A perfect blend of rockabilly, classic country, and roots based music is our forte along with a mix of our original songs. Keeping true music alive and kicking is something we have a passion for and hope you enjoy what we create as much as we love making it.

Risks and challenges
We write and perform music out of the pure love of sharing our vintage sound with folks of all ages – we don’t have a label or outside funding. Making music and playing live can be financially challenging, but we both feel that it's worth it. The chance to have some fans sing along, get a smile from a senior, or even see kids tapping their feet gets us every time. The last years of playing as a duo and traveling across the Midwest has taught us so much about ourselves and about the fine folks we so love to entertain. We've found that giving joy through music is meaningful. We're not solving the world's problems, but we do hope to make people smile or even relate to a song we perform. With this new album, we hope to reach an even broader range of people - connecting, uplifting and entertaining them with our brand of Americana music.
We've paid for all of our last albums and recording projects out of pocket. We did it because we felt it was important to share what we do with the world. With your help we can make our new album and pay for the expenses like recording, labor, design, licensing fees, printing, distribution and production of the CD itself. Making an album is labor intensive and costly, but we feel keeping this music alive is important, and we hope you think so too.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
