We are 2 sisters aged 10, and 7. We wondered why only famous people have biographies about them.
We personally know more about Taylor Swift than about our own grandparents, mainly because famous people have their stories already documented. We realized that we should create a way for everyday heroes to easily compose their own biographies. So we wrote down a list of questions, and interviewed our grandparents who live abroad. It was amazing how much we (and our parents) learned about them. So we created GrandStories; an outline for anyone to easily write their own biographies.
The book is arranged into several chapters with series of questions. There are easy questions, fun facts such as their favorite food, TV show, game etc…, to thoughtful ones such as their most important value growing up, advice for the future and so on. Since the questions are already there, the author doesn't have to think about what to include in their biography!
1. You can get a GrandStories to write your own biography (or)
2. You can present the book to anyone you admire, and have them fill it out for you to treasure
You can present this book to your grandparents, aunts, old school teachers, football coaches, just about anyone you admire! When they complete it, the biography is for you to treasure. It serves not only as a memento, but also as a historical family document.
We have put a lot of focus on the quality of this 40 page book.
The front and back covers are UV coated, or laminated for durability
The pages are natural, thick 80lb. card stock
We have spiral binding to lay flat to make it easy for writing
The left pages are blank for those who love to write a lot
We have a mission: We want at least a 100,000 people to document their stories using our books. According to Lao Tzu, “A journey of thousand miles begins with a single step.”
I hope you will join us in the journey to capture humanity’s history, one memory at a time!
