Throughout the years the Jacoby Art Center in downtown Alton, IL has become a pillar for the artistic community, it promotes creativity and provides a home for artistic exploration, education and camaraderie. Our hope is that if Jacoby Arts Center can survive it will become a hub for a new artistic community in downtown Alton that will consist of galleries, artist studios, loft apartments and new vitality.
In addition to a beautiful gallery, in which we showcase 10-12 exhibits a year, we have a public event space, and an ongoing education program to nurture the creation of art. We also have an on going music program that features Live at Jacoby: Saturday Nights concert series and Sunday afternoon jam sessions. However, converting Jacoby into a gallery has required a lot of time, work, and money; we may have to shut our doors after eight years. But with your help, we’ll be able to Save Jacoby.
We are offering a variety of rewards for our contributors and the list ranges from posters and pins to a mixture of classes and workshops. The classes and workshops cover ceramics, painting, drawing, and more; available for all ages. Show your support with our ‘Save Jacoby' posters, pins, and t-shirts, or check out the collection of limited edition prints and original pieces provided by an assortment of Jacoby-sponsored artists. Our largest contributors will even be given the chance to host their own show or event within the space.
So why should you contribute to Jacoby? if you are a lover of art, who values the ideas and opportunities we can bring to the community, if you enjoy the music you listen to or enjoy seeing a beautiful view, if you love reading a good story or if you would like your children to have an outlet to express their creativity, we need you to contribute.
Jacoby Arts Center brought the art heartbeat to Alton, and we need you to help us keep that alive. We want to thank you for taking the time to review our campaign and we hope that you find it in your heart to contribute.
