In This Unfolding : Exhibition
My name is Luke and I'm an artist and imaging scientist based in Brisbane, Australia. Recently I have been fortunate to receive an exhibition development award from Flying Arts to present my jewellery and sculpture in a solo show hosted by Griffith University Queensland College of Art (QCA). The exhibition will take place between May 6 - 30 in the Project Gallery, with the opening night on Friday May 8, 6-8pm.
‘In This Unfolding’ focuses on representing neural form and states of consciousness through delicate fine silver and gold jewellery alongside intricate sterling silver sculptures. The theme of our changing nervous system from birth through to ageing is explored through reflections of floral and anatomical anatomy. These complex organic creations simultaneously allow us to examine our impermanence and shared connection with all living things.
The works for the exhibition are already underway but to further fund the project and source additional materials I have decided to release a small selection of the jewellery designs in advance. The pieces available as rewards here will only be made in limited numbers and are also being offered at a significantly lower cost than at, or following, the exhibition.
By funding this project you will allow me to produce both jewellery and sculptural works using higher quality materials. A major cost in producing the works, such as the one in the main image for this project (a silver neuron recently donated to the Australian Cure Brain Cancer Foundation) is sourcing precious stones like Sapphires and Rubies along with the expense of sterling silver.
Not only will you be purchasing greatly discounted limited edition jewellery before anyone else can even get their hands on it. You will also be helping to build a greater awareness for neuroscience research, especially research related to Alzheimer's Disease, through the success of this exhibition.

Risks and challenges
If many people choose to back this project I may not be able to finish all the reward pieces in time for the exhibition. If this occurs I will create the remaining pieces in the weeks following the opening as soon as possible.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
