The MicroSteady is the answer to stabilizing your shots quickly, whether you are shooting with a smartphone, such as an iPhone or Android Phone, point and shoot, GoPro, traditional video camera or a DSLR. One of the biggest complaints people have with camera stabilizers is the amount of time it takes to balance their camera. Once you understand the process, the MicroSteady can be balanced in just a few minutes.
We need your help to bring this project to reality, which will allow us to bring the MicroSteady to the masses at a reasonable price.
What the pros say:
"The balance is incredible!" - John Hill, commercial Director of Photography (Pepsi, IBM, Subaru, and hundreds of other spots)
"It's really cool." - Tony Gaudioz, Director of Photography and Camera Operator on "HOUSE, M.D."
"It's absolutely amazing at how well this stabilizer performs." - Blake Bogdanovich, Director/Photographer.
MicroSteady Three-Axis Gimbal, Laser Etched Scale and Logo
The MicroSteady is made from aerospace grade aluminum, which is extremely lightweight and durable. Because it uses a gimbal, as opposed to a CV joint, it is more versatile than many other stabilization solutions on the market. It's capable of shooting upside down if you want extremely low angle shots.
MicroSteady Side-to-Side balance beam and DSLR camera mount
The MicroSteady is modular in design, which means you can change the vertical beam to allow for different size cameras. The PRO kit comes with both standard and EX (taller) beams. If you are shooting with a lightweight camera or your smartphone, then you can get by with the standard beam. If you put a heavier video camera or a DSLR on the stabilizer, then you can swap out the vertical beam for the taller EX version, which is capable of handling both smaller and larger cameras.
MicroSteady ST and EX Models, Anodized in Silver
Some of the things that make the MicroSteady special are the quick releases that allow for quick adjustments of weights and other movable parts, such as sliding the camera forward or backward or moving the handle, without the need for tools. It has accessory slots that will allow you to add monitors, audio recorders or most products with a standard tripod screw hole. Furthermore, the design of the MicroSteady allows you to replace the battery on most cameras, such as DSLRs, without having to remove the camera from the rig.
MicroSteady Dual Axis Level
The MicroSteady is equipped with a level that will help in the balancing process, which is mounted on one of the accessory slots. Over time, we will introduce some accessories of our own, which will make the MicroSteady an even more spectacular stabilizer.
MicroSteady Smartphone Mount
The MicroSteady will be available in two sizes, ST and EX. Both sizes are offered in three different colors, red, black and silver, The MicroSteady ST, is best used with small cameras, such as a smartphone, GoPro or a video capable point and shoot camera, while the MicroSteady EX can accommodate any size camera, up to a DSLR. When selecting your MicroSteady, you'll want to choose the type of camera mount you will be using. Inertia is a very important factor in camera stabilization, so we always recommend the slightly heavier EX model, if your budget allows. And, if you are a camera gear junkie, get the Pro Kit, which allows you to switch between the ST and EX versions.
In gratitude to everyone who helps us get our project off the ground, we are including a T-shirt and stickers with every MicroSteady. And, for a small additional fee we are offering to have your name or company logo laser etched into the MicroSteady, as well as your choice of color. The choice of color and laser etching is available on the MicroSteady Custom Rewards.
