This FUCKING BS!!!! NEVER backing Kickstarter AGAIN! Too many fraudulent companies and too many larger companies using this to start a product. I am done!!!
it is raging, but remember that every campaign is risly more or less. THIS IS NOT A SHOP.... and i have lost 90$ there :-(
Very disappointing...I funded $99 on this and get nothing...
@Games Factory could you give access to Marcin and Viola to your Kickstarter account so they can keep us informed of their work
@Games Factory can you remove the "Pre order" button ?
All Your Base Belong To Us
Wherever you are in the world and however your country's legislation works, we must use the power of "the crowd" to legally define what crowdfunding is so that it can be regulated and consumer protection can exist. Kickstarter has made it more than clear that they will never support backer claims as long as they enjoy the nebulous legal realm in which they currently dwell.
Those of us who constantly chant, "Kickstarter is not a store," are playing into the hands of those who seek to defraud us. If Kickstarter is not a store and it is not an investment platform, then what is it? It is either one of those things and subject to those regulations and laws, or it is a new thing that needs legal definition.
It is time for the crowd to fix this nonsense before it gets corrupted past the point of usability.
We will never know the truth and do no hold your breath for any recompense. All one can hope is to be able to identify the involved individuals in the future in case they try to launch a future project under a different disguise. I am sure there are victims here among the employees, but to have only 1 villain is very cliche' and reeks of compliance.
to people threatening to never back a Games Factory product, or never backing one of their kickstarters, or even claming they have a responsibility towards backers in this kickstarter i have 1 thing to say.
Games Factory is Bankrupt, there is no company anymore to hold responsible, and there will be no new kickstarters or products.
Its a shame we all mis out on our game, it may even be fishy, but bankruptcy is pretty much a final state,
Dudes... I just double checked and I lost over $280 US on this Kickstarter Project!!!
Dudes!!! I spent over $200 on nothing!!! Something is fishy here!!!
Even with criminal activity in the company like that, you still have a duty of care to the backers of this Kickstarter.
You either owe us a product, even if it's of reduced quality, or a partial refund (because a full refund is too much to hope for). And there are plenty of ways to do both. For now, all of you have been tarred with the same brush. It's up to you to prove us wrong about that through your actions.
Because words alone will not be enough.
Very disappointing. Good luck to your company and your employees, but I will never back another one of your Kickstarters again.
Shame... I even do not trust, that its fail of one guy and you all are blessed...
This is the first time I was burned by a game company. But this is the second time I was burned by a company in Europe. I will now not give any outright trust to any Europe-based company until it's earned.
Unless this gets delivered to me, I will never buy another Games Factory product.
Also, per Kikstarter terms, you have to provide us with an account of how the funds were used for this project and refund anything you can't account for. From what I'm reading, you won't be able to account for much of anything, so you owe 834 people here sizeable refunds.
I agree with Roy P, a print and play version would be a good start...if there is a translation for the base game and the expansions (rules and everything)....I would also settle for the Polish version with English Stickers! :))
Please remove the pre-order button from the kickstarter page! And please find a way to give this kickstarter page to the two autors who are the last two persons that can make this game reborn. Thanks.
I was hesitant to back this project but unfortunately I didn’t hesitate enough. I have backed hundreds of KS board games with only a handful of failed projects. Unfortunately when this happens, it’s not only the backers who suffer. Other small and unproven companies find it even harder to persuade backers to take a chance on them. I find myself being more inclined to only back project from established companies, which ironically is contrary to the original purpose of Kickstarter.
Hi all, I just got the news. Really sorry to hear what happen. Disappointing outcome and It raises a lot of questions about the company. One person cannot control the entire workflow and progress of a project. Even this update is not clear about what happened. I assume because people left there to clean up a mess that cannot be cleaned...I am not blaming anyone...it is just that, i feel we will never really find out. I see that the creators of the game are trying to salvage whatever they can from the game and development of the game in an effort to bring the project to life ...in a way...Marcin posted a video on youtube saying a few things. My understanding is that game will be produced in Poland but i think only in Polish!? I believe that he and Viola (the two authors) are trying to get the international version of the game out too...Let's see!
Can we at least get the print and play files to make our own copies? If they have been produced the files must exist somewhere to share?
I regret I didn't back Polish version, because that one is coming out in Poland.
Somehow this doesn't surprise me. I kinda gave up on this a while back. $99 well spent.
Well, no surprise here. I am sorry for the mess left by your criminal CEO. I hope there are warrants out for his arrest. If I might have one final request of what is left of your group, please pass on the file of backers of the game to the authors of Solar City. Perhaps if they find another company with stable finances, I would like to know it. In spite of losing a hundred dollars, I would still like to have the game someday....
Somehow this doesn't surprise me. I kinda gave up on this a while back.
Thank you for letting us know. I am so sorry for all of you left with that mess.
This is really sad..
.... and what’s now about our money ????
All lost ?
This sounds like nonsense. Each time a project like this fails, it's always some lone individual. The scale of buggering up something like and others not knowing stretches credulity. I've started keeping a log of people involved in failed projects like this, because they always pop up elsewhere with another way to source money.
The good thing is we can be alerted whenever a page, site, or forum mentions these people and we can warn others to be very cautious when handing over any money.
Seems like a very odd company structure where a ceo has controll over economy and logistics. Never heard of that before ever.
There are some burried lies somewhere thats for sure.
Jesus... This is hard to believe, to be honest. Absolute madness. The initial running of the Kickstarter seemed to be going so well, too. Shocking how it fell apart so disastrously, without even a passing mention until now. I hope the designers find an actual publisher to work with that doesn't have a crook for a CEO.
I also wish you all the best and hope you can soon sort of the mess created by one selfish individual. Hope the game eventually gets printed as it looks and sounds great :)
I'm really sorry to read all this. Although all backers were already suspecting something fishy, and me already gave up on ever receiving this game.
I wish you and your families all the luck on getting out of this financial mess soon, so you can get on with your normal lives again.
If, as you describe is true, and the CEO had control over everything, and the rest of the staff did not know about anything. That still puts the rest at fault because that is not the proper way how to manage a company. Either way, you knew, or you did not know, you cannot put all the blame to one person!
Really a shame.
