We have another LAST MINUTE REWARD to announce!
We are overwhelmed by the amount of support we experienced during this last few weeks! We talked to a lot of great people who told us we're on the right track, who published our project throughout the web and of course who backed this project! Thank you so very very much!!
So we were thinking of a reward who carries this spirit further (sorry that we didn't come up with it earlier!) and we want to give back to the community!
For $5000,-- (we know it is a lot!) you will help us going into a school or a charity or an organization that works with underprivileged children. We want to give them the chance to produce a short film in a professional environment and to express their creativity.
We did not choose an organization, yet, for you to have a chance to give your ideas! (in Germany)
In the end you will not only have supported an independent feature film - you will also have given underprivileged children a great opportunity!
And last but not least, the workshop will have your name. :o)
Hey folks! It's the final countdown! 5 days to go!!! So: all you nice people who liked us on Facebook (and all you nice people who didn't like us on Facebook yet but would if they had Facebook :o) (and all friends of those nice people!)) – now is the time!!
We need you guys!!! Don't leave us stranded!
Also, we have a REWARD UPDATE to announce!! For all of you who chose the DVD (and up!) as reward: you may now either choose to take a BLUE RAY DISC instead or – in case you don't have a blue ray player – download a FullHD-Version of “Der Bunker” and keep the DVD additionally!

All the best wishes for 2012 to all of you!! Thank you so much for your support!!!
„Der Bunker“ is a feature film from critically acclaimed director Nikias Chryssos.
WHAT IS "THE BUNKER" ABOUT?
Berlin based director Nikias Chryssos sets out for his next strike of social criticism, mixed with dark humor and maybe more than a smidgen of absurdity.
The film starts with a simple question: What happens if a highly neurotic family gets thrown off balance by an intruder.
The “intruder” is Pit, a young student who leaves town to study far away from the city noises for an important work in the quietness of nature. Being warmly welcomed by his hosts - a family consisting of mother, father & son - Pit feels like having found paradise on earth.
But gradually, he gets more and more urged to act as a home schooling teacher for the eight year old son. Pit soon understands that Klaus is totally unable to cope with his parents' absurd expectations of him.
The happy facade of the family begins to crumble down and reveals a neurotic system of power from which especially the son has to suffer. When Pit and Klaus slowly become brothers in arms against the imperious parents, the situation spins out of control.
„Der Bunker“ raises an important question: How far are we prepared to go to make our children ready for job and business-life? Are hardship, discipline, fear and pressure necessary instruments of education? Or do they do more harm then good? And in how far does childhood fall by the wayside?
Family should normally provide shelter, especially for the kids while preparing them for adult life. But sometimes, families who seem perfectly normal on the outside are microscopic totalitarian systems that are ruled like terror regimes.
In a very stylized way „Der Bunker“ takes part in the ongoing debate about education constantly crossing the line between drama and comedy.
Crowdfunding is our chance to keep "Der Bunker" as independent as possible. Although "Der Bunker" will be a fairly low-budget production, the topnotch digital cameras of today give us the possibility to produce high quality visuals within the borders of a small budget. Please note that the cinematic scenes in the Kickstarter video were shot as moods. They feature the actual actors but are not part of the actual film, which we'll hopefully be able to shoot in Spring 2012.
Believing that the film will entertain not only us (but also you!), we've decided to ask you for your kind support - you can really make the big difference between "Der Bunker" staying a dream or becoming reality!
The shoot will not work like crossing out a “to do list”. It should rather be a playground where new, surprising things can be found and developed. Like in in Nikias' film “Hochhaus” ("Tower Block"), we want to achieve a mixture between improvisation on one hand and stylization regarding both visuals and thematic content on the other.
Meaning? Well, have a look at the “Hochhaus” (Tower Block)-trailer!
“Hochhaus” was screened at over 40 film festivals (e.g. Berlinale, Tribeca Film Festival New York) and won lots of awards: Grand Prix International Competition (Odense, Denmark), Special Award, GUFTAT Award, GAFC Award (Drama, Greece), Centaur Award (St Petersburg), Best Soundtrack (Clermont-Ferrand), Best Short Film (Münster), Best Narrative Film, Best Screenplay (NextFrame, USA), Best Production Design (Munich), 1st Prize (Valencia), and was screened on French-German TV channel arte.
Here is also the trailer for Nikias' latest Film "Der Großvater" (The Grandfather)
As "Der Bunker" focuses on a global topic, we want the film to participate in the international festival circuit, as well.
WHAT ELSE IS THERE TO SAY?
Remember that Kickstarter is an “all-or-nothing” concept. So you really got it in your hands to help us bring "The Bunker" to the big screen.
If we do not reach our funding goal, you will never be charged (but we will nevertheless guarantee you a place in our hearts!)
In case you like the project and would like it to support it, but do not want your name to appear anywhere, you have the chance to push the "no reward - I just want to help the project"-button.
WHO WE ARE
Nikias studied at the prestigious Filmakademie in Ludwigsburg, Germany, and was invited to the “Cinéfondation” of the “Festival de Cannes” (a residence program in Paris) among five other international filmmakers. He was selected for Saatchi & Saatchi’s “New German Directors Showcase” in 2009. Apart from “Hochhaus”, his works include “Der Großvater” (The Grandfather), the internationally awarded “Down” (more than 80 festival screenings worldwide), short films, music videos, and documentary films.
You can check out some of his work here: www.kavla.de
Philipp on the other hand is the guy who worked tirelessly to get this film financed. He has established his production company “Deutsche Exotik” to be a first rate address for art-house motion pictures for an international audience.
Current projects include co-productions with America, Romania, Great Britain, India and Israel.
Here is a little FAQ on the Kickstarter-process as such.
Do I have to be an American citizen to pledge? Do I need to have a credit card?
Fortunately, everybody with an active Amazon-Account can pledge! It is quite simple btw, just click on the green “Back This Project” button on our project page. You will be asked to enter your pledge amount and select a reward. From there, you will go through the Amazon checkout process. Note that you must finish the Amazon checkout process for your pledge to be recorded.
What happens if the goal is not met?
As Kickstarter is an “all-or-nothing” concept, no money will be charged if we don’t reach our goal! If funding fails, all pledges are canceled and that's that.
What happens if the goal is met?
We'll be the happiest people on Earth! After some considerable bear hugs and the occasional tear of joy, we will immediately start on making it worth for you: Meaning that we can head directly into preproduction!
Is it possible to exceed the goal?
Yes, that is very possible! If we actually exceed the goal, we'd love to give something back! What that might be still depends on the actual budget at the end of our campaign. So stay tuned and rally all your friends to our cause!
Can I increase my pledge once it’s been made?
Yes! Once you donate to our campaign, you may want to change your incentive reward to a different one, or increase your pledge amount. To do so, go to Kickstarter and sign in. If you go to our campaign page, the green “Back This Project” button has been replaced with a blue “Manage Your Donation” button. Click it and you can enter a new amount, or choose a new incentive.
Is “The Bunker” a 501(c)(3) non-profit organization?
Unfortunately not. The pledges will not be tax deductible.
When can I redeem the incentive?
We will be working on manufacturing the physical incentives as fast as possible but they will need the film to be completed first (DVD, Frames). The Behind-the-scenes Blog will be available on the first day of shooting (we'll keep you posted!) and all incentives that have an influence on the movie itself will be handled even before that! Not bad, huh?
What is the money used for?
The money goes directly to the movie's budget and will be used for all costs involved in the filmmaking process like rentals, craft service, transportation etc.
Can I contact you?
YES, of course! We would love to hear from you! Give us your thoughts or riddle us with holes – we appreciate your interest in “The Bunker”!
