I've finished recording my second album (1st full length) at the beginning of 2012. The album features many great up and coming Memphis musicians including Khari Wynn ( Public Enemy, Back Sliders, Energy Disciples); Michaela Catlin; Hope Clayborn ( Soul Scrimmage); Tiffany Harmon (Other Stories); Nashon Benford ( The Dawls, Lucero); Daniel Anderson ( Whose Army) and Shelby Baldock ( Soul Scrimmage).
The album was recorded by me over a year and a half period, from my house studio. I recorded each person one by one while working on other musicians recording projects. When all was said and done, I had recorded 11 songs with 12 different Memphis musician contributing to the life of the full album. I mixed the album myself. I've been doing sound engineering work independently for the last 7 years. I'm no Daniel Lanois, but I'm pretty good at what I do. The mix is based on old 60's mixes when the recording consoles didn't have panning pots. When mixing in stereo, you had choice of putting each instrument or vocal in left, right or center position. The result were mixes that had, in example the drums and/or bass in the left speaker and the back vocals and horn section in the right while the main vocal was in the center. (both left and right speakers) It's a very classic sound that has been used by The Beatles, Percy Mayfield, Simon & Garfunkel and more recent artist like Lenny Kravitz, Ray LaMontagne, and Sharon Jones & The Dap-Kings.
Your contribution will go toward getting the album mastered and getting the album printed in CD format to sell in stores and at shows. I will also open a cdbaby account to sell the album on the internet and through digital distribution.( iTunes, Rhapsody, emusic, Spotify) The rest will go toward covering marketing cost such as posters, download cards and postage for sending the CDs out for reviews, radio airplay, festival applications, and music label consideration.
Thank you, Thank you, Thank you!!
