Frank LoCrasto here.
I've recorded my latest album of all-new material; it's called Lost Dispatch. It consists of 11 tracks that explore themes of exoticism, fantasy, and psychedelia. Over the years as I've discovered library music recordings from the 1950s and 60s, I found myself getting lost in low-fi tones of the exoticised tropics, which has inspired the record. The sounds are surrealist; a sonic landscape comprised of analog synths, percussion, woodwinds, and field recordings. I started writing/recording this material at my old apartment in Brooklyn 8 years ago, but most of it came together in 2013-2016 during a brief stint in Texas before I headed back to New York. Lost Dispatch has been years in the making.
The goal of this Kickstarter is to raise money to finish the album and get it onto your turntables. Once the campaign finishes in December, hopefully with your help I will have raised the funds to pay for the mastering, pressing of the vinyl, and promotional materials so that the record can be released to the public. It's roughly a 3 month turnaround time for vinyl so I'm hoping to release the record in April of next year. But if you pledge, you'll receive a high resolution download of the record after it has been mastered and the artwork has been finished, probably in January.
I'm proud of this record and it feels like my best work yet, I'm excited for you all to hear it.
Please feel free to reach out if you have any questions.
Risks and challenges
I'll do everything possible to get the vinyl copies out by April. I'm giving myself a little bit of extra time so if all goes well you might get it sooner. Depending on production times and shipping, there's a chance it could get pushed back. I'll let you know if something like that comes up but I've been wanting to get this out for 2 years now so I'm hustling to release this record.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
