Clarification about new $35 reward; scenario introduction; time lapse video

Another short clarification about our last update and introduction of $35 reward. We would love to do all the things that we outlined in our stretch goals. Hopefully, we can do one or two with the funds raised here. All other things we will do in expansion packs that will include new scenarios, new upgrade trees of characters, Map Editor etc. We are putting into our game everything that we have now and what we will have before the release. We are not cutting anything out of our game to sell later. In a way, one could look at it as a pre-sale of future add-ons. That’s what we want to give access to in our $35 reward.

A Road To Iron Forest - introduction

We would like to show you an introduction to a scenario: A Road To Iron Forest. By your response we see that exclusive scenario was not to you liking. So, it will be available first to you, our backers, and later it will be included in the next expansion pack. Here is the link:

Time lapse video

Also, here is a simple time lapse video to show global map and to show the time of day change:

You know I still watch this now and then, I just love Ressa Schwarzwald's music.

      I just watched the video & ... WOW! :D

    3. Darklord on May 18, 2012

@Muttala, yes you can give your 2nd copy to whoever you like!

Aterdux, if I go for USD 35 2 copies, am I allowed to give 1 to others?

      Muttala on May 18, 2012

Can someone give me 1 copy? :P, then I no need to up my pledge.

    6. Roq on May 17, 2012

@Aura - It's in one of their replies in the comments a few pages back now. The questioner was asking whether if you pledged at $35 level all the downloadable content was included for the second copy and Aterdux's answer was yes. So at that level you get 2 copies plus beta access & all DLC on both copies.

    7. Aura on May 17, 2012

"Aterdux have already confirmed that you get the full rewards for both of those copies of the games"
Could you please point me to Aterdux's confirmation on that, could not find anything besides the 2nd copy and 2nd beta test access.

    8. Roq on May 17, 2012

@Adrian - Aterdux's previous game - Discord Times is a strategy/rpg game that is original, addictive , quite difficult (good!) and just a really cool take on the strategy theme combined with RPG elements - it's definitely aimed more for a mature market than the usual commercial stuff. But graphically it is perhaps a bit crude by todays standards and the English translation isn't perfect. If you can get past all that though it has great gameplay.

In Eisenwald though they are updating everything: the graphics, the music, new combat system (much more visual than before). So, those are some of the reasons why this game will rock. It's probably not going to be as flashy as some of the other games out there, but judging by their previous game it will make up for that in game play.

I'm very tempted by the $35 tier, but I've just been looking at how many projects I'm backing. XD

    10. Roq on May 17, 2012

@Jacob - Yes, of course it's up to Aterdux. However, do note that these prices are already very low for a game of this quality and apply to the kickstarter only: Discord Times, for instance was selling at about 20$ back in 2006 if I remember rightly and Eisenwald is a much larger project. So if you don't get the expansions now you can expect to pay more for them later on - although I imagine they will still be competitively priced compared to other games - so it probably won't be too big a deal if you can't afford the expansion tier right now.

Jacob Røed on May 17, 2012

@Roq & William Hoyt: I don't see how it's unreasonable to sell the game and dlc's for 25$ or so (considering the price of the original game), as long as there is no extra copy, beta access, game soundtrack or map editor. It's Aterdux choice though and as I mentioned earlier I don't know if enough people on tier 1 are interested.

Does the $35 tier include DLC and map editor for both keys from the $25 tier, or only for one, or does it only include 1 key plus the DLC etc?

    17. SinoSamba <(-'.'-)> on May 16, 2012

Upgraded to $35 level. Great deal, thanks Aterdux!

    18. Darklord on May 16, 2012

I really hope things go crazy round here and we make LOADS of stretch goals! I suspect we'll hit the first one soon! :-D

    19. Roq on May 16, 2012

@Paul Dunnels - Yes seasons would be great, imagine that time lapse video done over a full year with emerging and retreating snow coverage. But the other stretch goals are also enticing...

@William Hoyt +1 and committing to that level now would accelerate development allowing the stretch goal functionality to be in the base game. Then the expansions are going to add new scenarios, skill trees etc on top of all that.

William Hoyt on May 16, 2012

People are asking for DLC and one copy of the game for less than $35? Even if you throw everything else away, you are paying $15 for the game and $20 for all future content.
Why would anyone complain about this? If you truly don't want the extra stuff, just say so in the Survey at the end of the Kickstarter.

    21. Paul Dunnells on May 16, 2012

After watching the time-lapse, it would be a shame if seasons didn't make it in at some point.

    22. Brian Watzig on May 16, 2012

thats my plan, or if it does get released on Steam i can give it away through that carma up, lol

    23. Roq on May 16, 2012

Because the $35 tier was added later, it didn't quite fit into the original reward sequence - I'm also backing the Grim Dawn KS and if you look at that you can see that expansions start at the $45 level and that's just for the first expansion.
Perhaps, in retrospect Aterdux might have done something like Grim Dawn did. As it is though Aterdux are including *all* expansions they make for this game at the $35 level *and* all previous rewards. Anyone, who doesn't need more than one copy or want beta access should just consider those a bonus and you never know, if you enjoy the game the extra copy might make a good present for a friend.

    24. Brian Watzig on May 16, 2012

and at $35 you get 2 beta copies 2 copies and 2 dlc sets (just sayin)

Ola Hansson on May 16, 2012

I too would like to see an option for 1 copy of the game with dlc. I would happily up my pledge to $25 for that.

    26. Roq on May 16, 2012

To get all future expansions of the game is where most of the value lies at the $35 level and it's already a bargain at that price, as many people have recognised by increasing their pledges. I don't think that it would be benefit Aterdux and the game to reduce the cost of their expansions any further.

      Greg on May 16, 2012

The time lapse video looks great, indeed, both in atmosphere and in the use of light. And without next gen bloom and childish colors.

    29. Archon on May 16, 2012

Time lapse video is great. Imagine that with seasons change: landscape changing colours, getting covered by snow, then blending into green life until being warmth by sunshine...
Man, Eisenwald needs more guldens !

I'd like to support Jacob's idea, maybe a $20 tier for one copy of the game + future content?

    31. Missing avatar

Jacob Røed on May 16, 2012

I would certainly like any DLC's that come out but I can't say Im interested in another copy, beta access, the game soundtrack or map editor, in short I would just like the game and the dlc's (Im on the 15$ tier for now).

I don't know anyone else on tier 1 except me is interested in this, but if there are would it be possible to add another tier beneath the 35$ one?

    32. Alex Podgoredsky on May 16, 2012

That sound much better! I'd like LoE, and i think i'll want to have all the future add-ons for this game. In that case i'll up my pledge to 35$.
And thanks for clarifying the situation!

    33. Demiath on May 16, 2012

This looks really nice. Upgrading to $35, it is!

    34. Ralph Chilton
      on May 16, 2012

Upgraded to the $35 level, I knew the mention of DLC would bring the usual suspects out from under their bridges.

    35. Roq on May 16, 2012

The video looks amazing in 1080p - the art style is ideal for this kind of game: I like the mix of realism with painterly flair - it's much more evocative than the more cartoony approach used in some other games. The music is very evocative too - I particularly like the little touches like the tolling of a distant clock tower bell towards the end.

    36. Brian Watzig on May 16, 2012

      and 2 copies for beta.

    37. Darklord on May 16, 2012

@Elizabeth Wu, Yes you get two copies, Aterdux Entertainment have confirmed this.

    38. Darklord on May 16, 2012

Great news! Thanks for bringing us so much Awesome! :-D

    39. SinoSamba <(-'.'-)> on May 16, 2012

Does the $35 pledge gets you 2 copies of the game? I'm pledging $25 to get the game for myself and a friend, just want to know if I will have a 2nd copy to gift him if I increase the pledge. Thank you!

    40. Matthew Cisneros on May 16, 2012

So boarding battles will be done, just probably later as an add-on or in an expansion? Phew. That sounded like such a neat, unique idea; I was rather disappointed it wasn't fairing so well in the poll.
