Fall of Angels is an RPG that returns to the roots of the genre that once made it so magical- the exploration, the feeling of adventure, imaginative puzzles and an engaging story. It’s a game that carries the captivating spirit of the old-school adventures, and focuses on the elements that made those games FUN. Work is already underway on bringing Fall of Angels to life- now we need your help to complete it!
Fall of Angels is an RPG built around adventure and exploration. The world of Tellus flows from seaside towns to snowy mountain peaks, from forgotten ruins to desert graveyards. Along the way your party meets temple monks, exiled miners, and strange individuals who by all accounts really shouldn’t exist... It follows a diverse cast of characters, each with their own back-story, perspective and abilities.
Fall of Angels is filled to the brim with puzzles and challenges to face along the way. We have taken cues from the greats- not only traditional RPGs, but also many other adventures ranging from Grim Fandango to Ib. Throughout the adventure there are many items and tools that are used to solve puzzles and uncover secrets- not only in the field but also while interacting directly with scenes close-up, or as part of a multitude of different play styles. This varied approach to puzzles gives us the freedom to get really creative.
Since the days of the Commodore 64, the games that focus on mysteries, exploration and puzzle solving have captured our imagination. As production values improved giving us classics such as Chrono Trigger, Zelda, Metroid and the early Final Fantasys, we were drawn into interesting and rich worlds. Now photorealistic graphics and long pre-rendered cutscenes showcase ‘cinematic experiences’, and we are seeing more and more QTEs and non-interactive set pieces. Fall of Angels was born from a desire to make a modern RPG that reignites that same sense of absorbing freedom and adventure that is becoming so rare now, and capture the wonder and feeling of becoming fully immersed in another land.
Another motivating factor behind Fall of Angels was a desire to explore interesting questions raised by RPG tropes and turn them on their heads for a fresh new look at the possibilities of the genre. Magic is almost always assumed to exist in RPGs in some form or other- but what would actually happen if a non-magic world like ours one day had magic introduced to its unsuspecting populace? How does the player's quest affect the world around it and the normal everyday people that live there? What might the world look like to people with abilities that fundamentally alter the way that they perceive it? And must there always be 'good guys' and 'bad guys'? With Fall of Angels we want to challenge established cliché, and create our own conventions.
Early 2012 we released an iPhone version of Fall of Angels to much critical acclaim. It established that we are on to something great- we have a game with so much potential, but this is only the beginning. The development of the expanded PC/Xbox version of Fall of Angels is expanding and growing not only the game world, but everything from gameplay mechanics to the character growth system. New maps, new routes, new towns, new dialogue, new puzzles, new battle mechanics. We’re creating the definitive version of the game, with the view to move straight into the next chapter of our epic- and we need your help to do it.

At the core of Fall of Angels is an original story full of intrigue and mysteries:
Following a natural disaster caused by a fiery object searing through the night sky, the world is thrown into turmoil as its people scramble to understand the events that happen next. At a time when everyone is looking for answers, their once dominant religious order has now closed its doors and gone into hiding. At the center of it all is a strange little girl and the man that follows her- the sole survivor of her murderous wake.

We have had nothing but fantastic feedback from the iPhone release of Fall of Angels in reviews, forums, emails- they all sing the game's praises. We could not be happier with all of the wonderful feedback... but we’ve only begun to scratch the surface.
In 2001 a series of events that ended in an overnight stay in a Ohio bus station gave me the inspiration to write the story and gameplay outline for Fall of Angels. Lacking the resources to see the project through beyond the demo stage, I made the difficult decision to be what I was told was realistic; I let my dream go and moved on in the way that I was supposed to. I got my degree and then a job working as a developer for a large video game company. A few years later I got myself an expensive suit, hands-free phone and fancy watch and left for London to be a consultant and climb the corporate ladder. Every morning I sat on the overcrowded commuter train and wondered what it would have been like if I had made that game.
A few years ago something happened that made me take a long hard look at my life, and I knew that it needed to change. I had abandoned my dream- but not forgotten it. So I left my job, left the meetings, left the suit. I gave it all up to do what I had always wanted to do- follow my passion. I sat down alone in my bedroom with nothing but a laptop, and sketched out the framework for the game that I have wanted to make since I was a kid. No money, no fancy car, no status, just me in my bedroom with a laptop. And I have never been happier.
As development gained speed I joined forces with a small team, and a long hard year later fueled only by coffee we released the handheld version of Fall of Angels on the iPhone. The success of this experience let me know that we really do have something with tremendous potential in our hands- I just need your help to bring the full dream to life.
Fall of Angels takes place in a rich expanding world, only a tiny amount of which has been brought to life so far. We have begun to tease at what is possible, but finding funding for a project as sole indie developers has proven impossible. We have achieved so much already, but now we need your help to keep going.
Our limited personal funds gave us the opportunity to prove the potential that Fall of Angels has- but now we need help to fund our experienced team to realize the true depth of that potential. The development of the expanded PC/Xbox version of Fall of Angels is expanding and growing not only the game world, but everything from gameplay mechanics to the character growth system. Improved graphics, new maps, new routes, new towns, new dialogue, new puzzles, new battle mechanics.
Fall of Angels has been created from scratch- original game engine, artwork, an entirely original story and an original world for it all to take place in. The amount of work that has- and continues- to go into Fall of Angels is massive. With your assistance we can continue to expand the scope of the game into the epic journey that it deserves to be.

We are expanding the scope and scale of Fall of Angels to make it an incredible journey. Of course the more detail that is put into a game, the longer it takes. We plan to release Fall of Angels in September, but if we receive feedback from backers and fans saying that more content/altered content is required then we will listen and act on that. Additionally, unforeseen circumstances can delay any project.
If there is a delay to the release date of the game, here are some reasons why the minds of our backers can be put at ease.
• We are an experienced team that are no strangers to the industry or large projects and deadlines. I personally have worked for a big name video game developer (Eurocom Entertainment Software) and as a consultant for IBM. We know what we’re doing, but we need your help to do it to the best of our ability!
• We have proof of concept and intention. A hand-held version of Fall of Angels has already been released on iPhone by our team, and there is currently bare-bones code running on PC. A chance to develop this game is a dream come true for us, and working our butts off for that dream is already proven as being second nature.
• We’re huge believers in keeping a dialogue with the people that play our games. It’s so important that a developer remains constantly aware of what the players want and what they hope to see- we are making the games for YOU after all. We have plenty of prior experience at adapting and growing our ideas based on feedback from our audience, and we also have experience at understanding where to draw the line- we won't get side-tracked with feature creep or unfeasible requests.
