In everything from love to politics to saying goodbye to family, grief is never too far away.
There's an agony to living, this constant struggle for happiness and survival; and there's a little hope too. We're making a record about that.
With a new name, a new line-up, and seven brand new songs, Margot is making an EP.
We're working with Danny O'Brien of Now, Now and Hot Dad Labs, and this is going to be our best record yet.
Here's the cost breakdown:
- $4,700 - recording/mixing/mastering
- $1,300 - physical copies of the album, merch, marketing
So that's $6,000 total.
Here are some of the rewards you'll get for supporting this project:
Our previous effort as H. Rose & the Nomads, before the new name/lineup
Brand new Margot stickers* to celebrate the production of this record!
Brand new Margot T-shirts*, be cooler than all your friends.
*design subject to change/editing (we're perfectionists)
Your voice on the new project--we've got a song with some gang-vocals on it, and if you're in the $100 or higher tiers you can actually get on the recording.
A thank-you concert.
We'll drive to your home, venue, place of business, and perform an acoustic show as a thank you for supporting this new project.
Risks and challenges
The primary risk for us is reaching our fundraising goal, we're looking to raise more than four times the amount of money that we raised to make our last project.
But our number of fans has tripled since those days, and we've got a good understanding of how crowdfunding works (We're even planning for some stretch goals to give a preview of what might end up being the concept for a full-length album in the next year or two).
We're confident this record is going to be the best piece of art we've made yet.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
