European Space Agency funded student opportunity to work on Pocket Mission Control app
We’re very pleased to announce that our Pocket Mission Control app has been selected to take part in the European Space Agency (ESA) Summer of Code in Space (SOCIS) 2013 program. As a result, we’re looking for a student resident in an eligible ESA member state to work with us for the next few months on the Pocket Mission Control app.
Eligible member states include countries you wouldn't necessarily expect such as Canada, so it is worth checking the list to see if you are eligible - students from Austria, Belgium, Canada, Czech Republic, Denmark, Estonia, Finland, France, Germany, Greece, Hungary, Ireland, Italy, Luxembourg, The Netherlands, Norway, Poland, Portugal, Romania, Slovenia, Spain, Sweden, Switzerland and the United Kingdom qualify.
You can find full details about the ESA SOCIS program and application process here and the Pocket Mission Control SOCIS page describing what we’d like worked on can be found here. This is the third year that the European Space Agency has supported one of our open source citizen space exploration projects, and we are very grateful to ESA and the Advanced Concepts Team that run SOCIS for their continued support.
The selected student will be mentored by members of the PocketSpacecraft.com team and paid directly by ESA. Students normally work from home, but will be welcome to join us in our office in Bristol in the United Kingdom if they prefer.
Applications are due 4th August 2013, so please spread the word today and we look forward to welcoming a new member to our team!
