Thanks for checking out our Kickstarter campaign page! The Pacific Guitar Ensemble, started by classical guitarist David Tanenbaum and steel-string guitarist Peppino D’Agostino, includes other members of the guitar faculty from the San Francisco Conservatory of Music with some of its most exceptional alumni. We are working on our first CD and we would really appreciate your help in making this project come together!
Our CD will be a recording of works for large guitar ensemble, produced by the great guitarist and Latin Grammy winner Sergio Assad. It will contain a mixture of transcriptions and works written specifically for us. In addition to classical guitar, other instruments that will be heard on the CD include oud, sazouki, baroque guitar, steel string guitar, electric guitar, 11-string Archguitar, and bass.
The repertoire will include Bach's 6th Brandenburg Concerto, Wednesdays at Sugar by Sergio Assad, Fernando Sor's Grand Solo arranged for 6 guitars by Sergio Assad, Begin by Belinda Reynolds, Terry Riley's Y Bolanzero, and Jump Rope by our own Peppino D'Agostino. About half of these are world premiere recordings!
In order to make this possible, we need your help.
In exchange for your generosity, we've compiled a list of gifts for you to choose from depending on how much you give. There are some exciting rewards here, up to and including a concert in your SF Bay Area home by the whole Pacific Guitar Ensemble, PLUS dinner for you and 9 friends cooked by Peppino D'Agostino with help from the other members!
Please consider making a donation, and thank you for your time!
