The World of Tomorrow #1 represents the hard work and determination on behalf of the creative team who brought it to you!
This fun-filled comedy adventure grabs hold of you from the first page and pulls you into its world.
In 1950s Hollywood, Craig Barstow, the burned-out lead actor of the failing sci-fi TV show: The World of Tomorrow, ends up believing he actually IS the show’s heroic protagonist, Captain Cal Armstrong, after a failed mob hit leaves him delusional.
Now, with the mob on his tail and the tyrannical studio boss at his throat, he must find a way to regain his sanity, keep his show on the air, AND save his girlfriend, all before the show’s final 5pm broadcast!
The series has been meticulously researched to give it an accurate look and feel of 1950s Hollywood.
If you have a sharp eye for film history, you might pick up on a few of our locations, inspired by famous films set in the early days of Hollywood:
This issue, and the series as a whole, are loaded with fun Easter Eggs and references to that time period and the early days of television.
If you enjoy comedy, Hollywood history, action, adventure and sci-fi, this book is for you.
We know that you will have as much fun reading the first book in this series as we did creating it.
The World of Tomorrow has already been read by several well-known comic websites, podcasts and YouTube channels and the reviews have been positive across the board.
Here's what the critics are saying:
"This is as delightful, entertaining and so much better than what we are currently getting (especially outta the “Big 2”) right now. The story is great and the way it flows the characterization that we see and these fantastic interiors show a quality that’s a cut above the rest. "
- Steven Leitman, Reading With a Flight Ring
"This was a really fun comic book. The end is literally one of those WTF moments! I want to make sure that I see Issue 2, so let’s get this thing funded."
- Professor Bill, Comic Book University
"Beautiful retro art starts us off with a gorgeous illustration of outer space and a spaceship blasting through the heavens….The story really does draw you in and hook you. "
- Richard Vasseur, First Comics News
"I think it’s a really cool project and I’m interested to see where it goes from here. There are not enough of these [types] of stories out there, at least not in comic book form."
- Sawyer, Sawyer’s Comic Reviews
"You guys should definitely go check it out! It’s a really interesting read and I’m sure you guys will love it! "
- Lyndsay, Lyndsay’s Geeked Out Knick Knacks

The creation of a comic book requires a lot of up-front financial investment in the time and talent of the extremely gifted artists who brought this book to life.
As an independent comic label, we are not bankrolled by the profits of our latest billion-dollar grossing summer blockbuster film like some other comic labels you might be aware of. (Well, at least not yet, anyways)
Regardless, all artists involved were paid a fair and standard industry rate for their work.
Coming from an independent filmmaking background, I received far too much "payment" in my early days in the form of "experience" "exposure" and "credit". As such, I will never ask anyone else to work for that.
75% of the funds raised go directly to the artists. Your contribution in this issue is also an investment in subsequent issues, currently in production. (see below)
The rest of the funding will go to covering the costs of physical production of the books and reward fulfillment.
We have some great rewards at every donation tier. Everything from original artwork to Craig's hip flask to being drawn into a future issue, to joining us at Comic Con 2019, is on the table. You won't be disappointed with any of the rewards and we truly appreciate your support at any level.
The $100 Reward tier includes Craig Barstow's signature hip flask. This little helper is how Craig gets through the day and knocks out 5 episodes per week. Emblazoned with The World of Tomorrow logo, it is perfect for keeping you well hydrated with the non-alcoholic beverage of your choice at any point in the day...just like Craig.
BE OUR GUEST AT COMIC CON 2019!!

All while rubbing elbows with celebrities who happen to be at the show that day.
Risks and challenges
There are not any risks for you (the backer) with World of Tomorrow #1.
All of the risk-taking and major challenges have been overcome before we brought this to you.
The only challenges we foresee are printer delays, or any production delays with some of the prizes.
These risks are incredibly minor and, even in the most significant case, would only delay shipment slightly, since we have already built in a buffer for printing and shipping.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
