Update #69: My FOIA Lawsuit Moves Forward in Federal Court + Judge Sets Dates
Howdy Backers and Supporters!
A quick update to let you know that work on our documentary film continues.
As mentioned previously, this spring I filed a Freedom of Information Act (FOIA) lawsuit in Washington DC against the United States Patent and Trademark Office (USPTO) to gain access to documents the USPTO improperly withheld from our documentary in violation of several FOIA requests I filed on behalf of our film.
The judge in the case published a schedule agreed to by both sides; the first date is just around the corner (October 16th) with other dates that follow through the end of the year.
This is a crazy-complicated story, but the bottom line reason I filed the lawsuit is that evidence suggests that the USPTO and others may have intentionally slowed down and dragged out the Eat More Kale trademark application process which resulted in diminishing the issue of trademark bullying, and the Eat More Kale story within that issue.
