Many said that you would never be able to deliver goods to all the islands in this remote archipelago, but you and your partners are dead-set to prove them wrong! Yes, you all had to pool your money into buying one plane; and, yes, the plane is held together by duct-tape and some hope. To make matters worse the navigational instruments are completely broken, so in essence, you are flying blind. But if you cross your eyes just enough it looks like this airplane is perfectly fine! I mean what could possibly go wrong?...
Island Hopper is a game where you and other players fulfill contracts for the various companies scattered throughout the archipelago, while bidding amongst yourselves for who is going to pilot the battered plane. Bribing the pilot is essential since everyone has different contracts for different islands, and not enough fuel to get to them all! With none of you being actual pilots, and the navigation system being shot, this forces the pilot to rely on the other players for directions to successfully deliver cargo. Since everyone wants to fulfill contracts on different islands, the question really is, who should you trust?
Scott Almes designed Island Hopper, along with other titles such as Loop, Inc. and the Tiny Epic Series of games. It supports 2 to 6 players, ages 10+, and takes only an hour to play. Island Hopper is a fantastic addition to the gaming hobby, and Scott's contribution is a game that you will keep coming back to time and again.

DESIGNING ISLAND HOPPER, IN HIS WORDS:
Island Hopper was designed to be a blend of my love for both dexterity and euro games. Both have their pros and cons, and I wanted to blend the two and bring the best of both worlds. A good dexterity game is eye catching and invites people to come to the table. They also have those wonderful "stand up" moments when something really surprising happens. But, many dexterity games lack depth and rely heavily on the hand-eye-coordination aspect, which some people just don't like. A good euro game has a balance of strategy and fair play, where you always win by your wits. But, euro games (traditionally) don't have those exciting or hilarious moments that you can get in dexterity games. So, with Island Hopper, I wanted to bring the best of both of these genres. It's full of both strategy and those wonderful stand-up moments.
I also wanted to remove a particular barrier for dexterity games. Some people just don't like dexterity games. They don't like stacking, dropping, etc. In Island Hopper - that's perfectly okay. Each round only one person wins the bid for Captain, which is the player who does all the dexterity actions that round. You can win by never being Captain - or you can win by being Captain as often as you can. It all comes down to the game's economy. In this way, I think this is a dexterity game that can be loved by people who hate dexterity games. (And of course, still loved by those that do.)
I'm very proud of how this game turned out. It's a wonderful family game full of both strategy, social interaction, and big moments. I hope you all will have as much fun with the game as I have.

Risks and challenges
Eagle-Gryphon Games stands by our products. If there are issues with your game, please contact our customer service department within 30 days of receiving the copy of the game you have pledged for. We will take every step necessary to get you exactly what you pledged for. Contact: email@example.com. We do not accept responsibility for messages that end up in SPAM, that’s out of our control.
Shipping issues are relatively uncommon, but they do sometimes occur, especially when shipping to destinations outside of the US. We will obtain tracking information when it is possible, but sometimes it is not. We cannot guarantee that there will not be shipping problems, as we cannot guarantee the service and reliability of the various postal/delivery services involved around the world. You will have to assume that risk along with us.
We are a games publisher and not a shipping/delivery/governmental postal carrier. We do not ship damaged games out to you, but occasionally they are damaged in shipping by the carrier. Please keep in mind that we did not cause that damage, nor are we responsible for it. Your first recourse is to recover your losses (if any) from the carrier, not us. However, if you are reasonable about it, we will work with you to document and recover these losses as well.
Eagle-Gryphon Games has completed over 64 Kickstarter projects to date. Virtually all of those projects have either completed delivery or they are in the midst of it right now! Projects successfully completed on Kickstarter within the past few months, include these -- Morocco; Heir to the Pharaoh; Continental Divide; Vinhos Deluxe; The Daedalus Sentence; Empires: Galactic Rebellion and Attack Deluxe. All of those games are in various stages of either production or shipping to Backers, and ALL of these are expected in July and August, 2017.
We keep Backers notified by Updates about the status of their projects. We deliver on our promises reliably and usually on time (the very few delays we have ever had were related to production schedule issues and/or transport issues such as weather and dock strikes, which we have only, at best, partial or NO control over).
To put it simply, you will get everything you are promised when you pledge to one of our Kickstarter Projects, and it will be delivered to you in as timely a manner as possible.
Shipping can be problematic and expensive. We ask that you are patient and tolerant and share the burden with us of making sure that shipping is as positive an experience as it can be. But be aware of what is involved please.
We will ship US orders from our Eagle-Gryphon Games warehouse in Kentucky; Canadian orders from Board Game Bliss in Ontario; Australian orders from The Games Capital in Canberra; and Asian orders from our warehouse in Shenzhen, China (mainland). We do this in an effort to keep expenses low but this much shipping also introduces more chances for damage and delays. We cannot avoid this risk, and save money for you. So we ask that you join us in assuming some of the risk when it is not ours either, and that you are as tolerant and patient as need be about the estimates we make many months before as to "Estimated Delivery" dates in the Rewards section. Many things about this estimate are simply NOT within our control, and you must agree to be tolerant and accepting of those delays. We will do our best to keep things on time, but we simply cannot assure you that we will meet these “made-well-in-advance” estimates.
It has been our experience that many people frequently confuse "shipping" expense and "postage" expense. What we try to cover with “shipping fees” is shipping expenses, not just postage. Postage is the actual charge your country's postal service (or UPS, FedEx, etc) charges us to deliver a package within that country.
Shipping is far more comprehensive and includes: getting the container shipped to the US, or the EU, or Australia; the Customs and VAT (or equivalent) and other import fees and taxes; the drayage from the port to the warehouse; the warehouse fees to unload and sort out and prepare packages; the materials and labor involved in the last item; fees to the warehouse for their service to us, and only after all of that, the postage! We need to cover all of those costs--and they really add up. Frequently they cost as much or more than the game(s) did to produce.
When we combine a low margin price (such as the one we offer on all of our KS projects) with this shipping expense, we do not make any profit if we are not very careful. We hope that the shipping we are charging for this project is as low as we can make it and still stay in business. We ask that you understand this, and when we occasionally make mistakes in quoting shipping expenses, please be tolerant. We will give you a refund if we must make shipping fee changes and they are not acceptable to you.
We also reserve the right to combine the shipping of any and all pledges for multiple KS projects if the projects and the shipping are run close to the same time and if we can ship them all within a reasonable time (30 days) of us receiving them in our Kentucky warehouse. Of course, we will advise you ASAP if it looks like we will be holding up shipping for this reason and you will always have the right to pay additional fees to get expedited delivery on individual orders/pledges.
Internationally, for unusual shipping destinations or multiple games, get in touch with us and tell us the total of how many games you want; which ones; and where you would like them shipped.
To get in touch with us, please send us a Message (not a Comment please) using the "Contact Me" button at the top of the KS project.
We will not ship to Russia, the Ukraine and select places in Asia and the rest of the world, except for specially-made arrangements wherein the Backer takes the risk involved in receiving the package.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
