A prototype is a preliminary model of something. Projects that offer physical products need to show backers documentation of a working prototype. This gallery features photos, videos, and other visual documentation that will give backers a sense of what’s been accomplished so far and what’s left to do. Though the development process can vary for each project, these are the stages we typically see:

OMNIBOARD is is a versatile, portable electronics workbench. I have created the OMNIBOARD to make electronics easier and more affordable, to put in your hands tools which are rarely accessible for hobbyists while still being easy to use for the beginners and powerful enough for the experts.
OMNIBOARD can be used as the USB device, connected to the computer or as a standalone device (limited functionality: oscilloscope, basic waveform generator, voltmeter, power supply & clock source).

Oscilloscope & waveform generator are packed with advanced features, many of which are not even available in more expensive products. 2xChannels -16.5 to 16.5V, third channel 0-3.3V.
Voltmeter works in both modes: standalone and USB. We have created a special micro application just for the voltmeter in the USB mode. It has some nice features such as: stay on top, hold results and configurable low pass filter to make displayed results more stable if needed.
Power Source: Any of the positive voltages can be delivered independently to the breadboard power rails. They are also available on the pin header on the top of the board.
OMNIBORD is a AVR microcontroller ISP programmer and a CORTEX (ARM) SWD programmer and debugger. No additional hardware needed.
Serial to USB converter: (Virtual COM port). Separate COM port for the serial communication, not shared with other devices. OMNIBOARD has 5 GPIO / PWM ports controlled by the software in the USB & standalone modes.
* RLC Meter - for full functionality requires the RLC Extension Board which accommodates the ZIFF socket and some passive elements. RLC Extension Board will be available after the Kickstarter campaign in our shop and as an Open Hardware project.
The I2C/SPI Host device is a powerful I2C & SPI bus host adapter through USB. It allows a developer to interface to the I2C/SPI devices and transfer serial messages using the I2C and SPI protocols, making development and debugging much easier.The I2C & SPI host adapters thremself cost in excess of $250

Optional TFT SCREEN
If the omniboard is used as standalone device a TFT display is needed. Almost any Arduino TFT touch shield can be used (the firmware supports most of the available chip sets). The shield is not included
Risks and challenges
After plenty of work, we have product ready. But there is still a lot to do.
The most important risk is the availability of parts - we have many sources of the critical parts - some of them have long lead times.
