Welcome to the KickStarter campaign for the new feature film THE GHOST CLUB!
The Ghost Club was founded in 1862 to investigate ghosts and psychic phenomena. The Club has been investigating for over 150 years. We want you to join that investigation and be a participant in the Ghost Club movie.
The Ghost Club is entering post production, and we need your help. Principal photography and our first cut are finished. We are heading into post production and need funding for a final cut, post sound and special FX to get us ready to submit to film festivals like Sundance and SXSW. That's where you come in. We need $10,000.00 to get the film ready for a film festival screening. As a participant you play an integral role in the post production process and be a part of the progress while getting rewards to boot. You can check out the teaser above!
About The Story
Based on true stories, for 150 years The Ghost Club has investigated ghosts and psychic phenomena to prove or disprove the existence of the beyond and to make contact. Club Teams, made up of believers and skeptics (the most famous being Sir Arthur Conan Doyle, and Harry Houdini) have investigated reported hauntings in the United Kingdom, and the United States since 1862. .
In 2011, The Ghost Club is a popular reality TV show. Following in the traditions and using the technology unique to the Club, dedicated paranormal professionals--skeptics and believers--investigate reports of the bizarre and unusual. When the team decides to retry their luck at an abandoned mansion in the deep-south with a long and dark history, they encounter something beyond their wildest dreams. Could it be the solid indisputable proof the Club has spent the last 150 years trying to find?
As the night unfolds, and the evidence piles up, their excitement turns to thrills and then fear. The goal of contact fades, replaced by the primal fear of making it out of this real haunted mansion.
More Than Just a Movie: The Ghost Club Storyscape
Storyscapes are a new way to tell stories across movies, storygames, webisodes, websites, augmented reality and more. The story of The Ghost Club inhabits more than just that of the feature film. The concept of the Club, its team members and the reality and rules of the world of the Club will be introduced through a variety of non-traditional media channels before and after the film is released.
Our goal of introducing The Ghost Club through a transmedia storyscape is to generate a cohesive alternate reality that will engage fans, enabling them to discover, explore and even participate in the world of ghosts and hunters.
We will start releasing exclusive webisodes of The Ghost Club Girls - a prequel series - to our supporters through Kickstarter. The Ghost vs Club AR game demo will also be previewed by participants.

How Kickstarter Works
Kickstarter is the largest funding platform for creative projects in the world. Artists in a variety of disciplines use Kickstarter to raise money from energized patrons all over the world. Rather than investing in risky projects, patrons donate funds in return for tangible and valuable rewards at different giving levels. Rather than rely on a few investors to fund their projects with large investments, artists receive funds of varying levels from hundreds, even thousands of fans from all walks of life in any corner of the world, increasing the level of awareness for their projects.
Kickstarter is ALL OR NOTHING. Artists set a fundraising goal and a fundraising deadline and if they don't raise the entire amount by that deadline, they do not receive any of the funds!
What Happens If We Don't Raise Our Goal?
Well, like we said, if we don't raise our goal, we go away empty-handed. So, if we only raise $9,500 of our $10,000 goal, we don't get to keep any part of the $10,000. Donors pledge the amounts, but don't actually pay until the goal is reached and the funding deadline has passed.
Can We Raise More Than Our Goal?
YES, we can. There is no limit to the amount of funds we can raise and additional funds raised will be put to good use. In today's new distribution environment for independent films, filmmakers can take an active role in distributing their films, which is incredibly empowering. Additional funds raised will ensure that the film reaches audiences everywhere.
When Will You Receive Your Reward?
As soon as we reach our funding deadline and assuming we raise our goal, we will start getting rewards out to everyone. Some will take longer than others because they will need to be created or ordered, but rest assured that everyone will get their rewards.
How Else Can You Help?
The Ghost Club is your film, too, so the most valuable thing you can do is Participate. "Like" our Facebook fan page and follow us. Join the conversations there and let us know what you think of the film or any of the rewards you received. Spread the word--let your friends know about the film and this campaign. Beyond forwarding our Kickstarter link to your friends who might enjoy being a part of something like this, let them know when the film will be playing in their towns.
This is what Kickstarter is all about.
