About this project
We are seeking a little help to bring a few new and exciting changes to the "Pickle*Pusher" line of small batch home fermentation product line. 6 color changes will be offered depending on the milestones achieved. 1] Orange orange 2] Tomato red 3] Berry blue 4] Banana yellow 5] Grapey purple and 6] Clean Clear .. well it is not really a color but was asked for in recent polls! We will add color choices according to the Milestones we reach!
Colors after initial funding of $4,000 USD will be choices of:
- "Lime green"...... which is already in production
- "Tomato red"...... NOTE: Launcher color may vary
- "Clean clear".... NOTE: There will not be a clear "launcher"
- AND A MYSTERY COLOR CHOSEN THRU A POLL FROM OUR BACKERS!
These colors will be available after the campaign reaches the fully funded phase. This is only a 3 week campaign so help us get the word out and share this campaign as well as our Facebook link !
What is small batch home fermenting ?:
Fermenting is the process of using lacto bacteria in an environmentally controlled container to turn salt, water and vegetables into a more nutritious food and helping to preserve it. This is done following 2 main rules:
1] Control the environment in your container by not allowing contact with the outside air which has contaminants in it and to also control the inner space of your container which will develop into a CO2 rich atmosphere which further helps to prevent failure due to mold, until the ferment reaches a PH that does no longer favor bad spoiling bacteria! A simple lid stops contact but does not allow the effective release of the CO2 without constantly "burping" the lid then re-tightening it again. This eats up your time and ties you down! A simple airlock solves this problem effectively!
2] For the best success, you "Must keep everything under the Brine" This is the single most important rule to follow and for years people have racked their brains trying to accomplish this! While fairly easy to accomplish in the larger crocks, doing so in a smaller container like a mason jar is somewhat harder. Most commonly used weights made of glass or porcelain are bowls and disks that are ill fitting allowing vegetable parts to escape to the surface. There the pieces will grow mold. They can break or sink.
Introducing the best solution and why:
For those of you not familiar with the Pickle*Pusher, it is a fermenting weight replacement actually and outperforms existing weight systems and methods "hands down". It is food safe BPA and phthalate free silicone rubber molded over a core of 316 stainless steel. You can feel the quality! The device will hold over 4 1/2 pounds of pressure on your ferments when installed in a quart or 1/2 gallon mason type jar and will eliminate the need for:
1]. Weights that sink or crack!! Nothing worse than having to fish out a sunken weight before the ferment is done! The Pickle*Pusher stays in place until you remove it!
2] Weights that have to be removed to tend your ferment. The Pickle*Pusher has nothing to remove to work your ferment! It offers a totally unobstructed view of the brine surface which is important when trying to remove kahm yeast effectively!
3] Weights that are difficult to install and remove. The Pickle*Pusher is so easy to install and remove! 5 second deployment and removal!
4] Weights that are vegetable based and can grow mold! No more looking for something to hold those veggies down and stop floaties! No mold can grow on the Pickle*Pusher!
Basic facts for the Pickle*Pusher:
The pickle pusher has 4 parts: 3 of them make up the "plunger assembly" which actual does the work of holding your ferments under the brne and the last part is the "launcher" which compressed the "fins" and aids in the deployment of the "plunger assembly". Once the plunger is launched , the launcher goes into a kitchen drawer for later use in removing if desired. Together they make a very easy to use fermenting weight replacement that actually does what a fermenting weight should do which is hold your fermenting vegetables under the protective brine.
The Pickle*Pusher is "So dang easy to use!" 5 second Install and removal!
AN IMPORTANT NOTE ABOUT OUR FERMENTING KITS:
If you drop by our website or our seller page on Amazon or Ebay, you will see that one extremely nice feature of our complete kits that offer the Pickle*Pusher...... ALWAYS CONTAIN A LITTLE EXTRA THAT OTHER KITS DO NOT BOTHER TO INCLUDE!!!!
- We always include an extra Ball brand plastic storage lid and a high quality silicone gasket to use when your ferment is done and you want to start another batch!
This may not seem like a lot but keep it in mind when you are comparison shopping!.
Milestone Reward for $6,000USD:
- We will include two more of the remaining colors we show in the picture!
- "Grapey purple" NOTE: Launcher color may vary
- "Banana yellow" NOTE: Launcher color may vary
These colors will be available after the campaign reaches $6,000 USD payout. Again, this is only a 3 week campaign so help us get the word out and share this campaign as well as our Facebook link !
Milestone Reward for $8,000USD:
We will include 2 more of the remaining colors we show in the picture!
- "Berry blue" NOTE: Launcher color may vary
- "Orange orange" NOTE: Launcher color may vary
These colors will be available after the campaign reaches $8,000USD payout. Again, this is only a 3 week campaign so please help us get the word out and share this campaign as well as our Facebook link !
Milestone Reward for reaching $10,000USD:
We will also include a longer adjusting rod into each reward package! This will allow the Pickle*Pusher to work 100% as effectively in the 1/2 gallon mason jar as it does in the quart mason jar it was designed to work in. The rod will now allow mold free ferments like tepache, ACV, and beet kvas(s) to be mold free! The rod holds the Pickle*Pusher in it's sweet spot in the jar throat without having to rely on jar contents to keep it there and allows more juice to veggie content! NO CONVENTIONAL WEIGHT CAN DO THIS!!!!
The reason for the longer rod is to allow the Pickle*Pusher to remain in the upper reaches of the jar as it does currently in the quart mason jar. This means that in ferments like beet kvas(s) or tepache which do not require the entire jar to be packed with produce, the Pickle*Pusher can stay in it's "sweet spot" relying on the rod and not the produce to do this! The result is no "floaties" and no mold!
So in conclusion, ask your self if your fermenting weight can do this?
We bet it can't!
Many thanks in advance for helping out with this promotion! We do not have a large social following and we are hoping that this campaign will help us grow that as we continue to bring new and exciting products to the fermenting world.
We are going to try the KickBooster Affiliate program to help get the project funded! It pays 10% of the backer's pledges to you as a referal commision! We have no idea if this will help! Time will tell.
Risks and challenges
We have already produced the Pickle*Pusher in one color. It is our trademark Lime Green and we would like to offer it in a variety of colors as well as clear. This means a minimum of 1000 per color which is the reason we are offering this campaign. We do not have the funds to bring this to market by ourselves in a timely manner.
The molds are proven and paid for, we have proven our logistics and our suppliers are waiting for the word to proceed.
Due to already using the complete production and delivery system, we are confident we can reach our delivery date with room to spare. All we need is everyone to please help spread the word to make this campaign a success for us all and this campaign will become the pattern we will build on for our next product launches of which we have plenty that will rock our fermenting world!
Please share on Facebook or wherever you can. And sign up for our newsletter to stay abreast of any new product releases as they develop.
