Warm greetings and welcome to our new film Harvest. We need your help to get the project off the ground and be part of the journey to bring the film to the big screen.

Some of you will be familiar with our past films. From Painted Angels (1998) to Back to the Garden (2012), we've built a body of work that continues with Harvest. We're delighted to launch our first crowdfunding campaign, raise crucial funds for the project but also give something back to the community of supporters and friends.

Harvest is about a group of performers who want to renew a creative partnership after many years of separation. They come together in the wild and mountainous setting of the French Cathar country, where three lonely farmhouses sit against the desolate terrain. The lines between fiction and reality quickly blur as relationships past and present are examined. It's a meditative, magical story that will delight those accustomed to our liberating style of improvised drama. For new audiences we hope you will enjoy the latest installment of our work and join the adventure.

Our last three films (The Kent Trilogy) were made on micro budgets but with an uncompromising commitment to high quality and challenging work. Those films received consistent critical acclaim and reached audiences across the world. Their success laid the foundations for a project of greater scope, vision and ambition. We hope the spectucular setting of Harvest, and involvement of seasoned actors Meret Becker and Bob Goody, will bring our work to new audiences.

We'll continue to explore the improvisary style of our last films and inspire other artists to throw out the constraints that can limit creativity. The current climate is not supportive of independent filmmaking but Kickstarter is a great way for us to connect to our audience and enable all of us to enjoy the next fillm.

While we have raised initial funding, our crowdfunding appeal forms the vital last part of the budget. By backing the campaign you'll play an integral role to realise the project and become part of the Harvest community of friends and supporters. We've carefully chosen rewards we think you will like and be reflective of our gratitude for you.

Every penny will help get this project made. The producers are committed to paying cast and crew fairly and we face the costs that come with shooting abroad; transportation, rentals and so on. Funding independent films is tougher than ever and our eternal thanks and gratitude go to those who'll help us fulfil this last part of our budget.

We hope our friends and supporters will share this incredible journey with us and play a part in getting the film to the big screen.

The Team

We've assembled an amazing team for Harvest, a cast and crew we know will deliver a great film. We're delighted that German actress and singer Meret Becker, who last worked with us on Painted Angels, will form part of an ensemble cast alongside Bob Goody, Emma Garden, Tanya Myers, Petra Markham, Maxine Finch, Seonaid Goody and Stephen Lowe.

Cinematographer David Scott rejoins us after delivering a superb picture for Back to the Garden. The film is produced by James Barrett (Blackbird) and features brand new score from composer Douglas Finch. Fulfilling other crew roles we have a dazzling array of talent from Mick Duffield, Abi Osemi, Anisha Fields, and Damien Barnetcutt.

The Timeline

Harvest will be shot over the first two weeks of September. Throughout October we'll be sending out the first of our rewards and assembling the edit. Post production will last until Summer 2016 when the film will be submitted for international film festivals. The special cast and crew screening is likely to be in August 2016. Our website, facebook and twitter pages will provide regular updates on our progress.

Risks and challenges

We've delivered three low budget films but take nothing for granted in what is a more ambitious and challenging project. However past experiences have taught us valuable skills along with the a stubborn persistence and determination to fulfil our vision. Part of our shooting style has a built in flexibility and characteristics not disimilar to the Dogme 95 movement. The liberation of working like this, with no outside interference or aesthetic constraints, means that everyone's creativity can be released and we can continue to make films at a time when independent filmmaking in the UK receives little support.

That flexibility and improvisational aspect that flows through our work will allow us to find creative solutions in the event of problems. We'll work collaboratively and quickly to meet any challenges that might arise, whilst ensuring the film meets the standards and vision that we and our audience share.

Making films is a privilege as well as our passion. For you to share this new journey involves a trust is us and a belief in our work and for that we are enormously grateful.
