- Valhalla -
noun | Val·hal·la | \val-ˈha-lə also väl-ˈhä-\
1 : the great hall in Norse mythology where heroes slain in battle are received
2 : a place of honor, glory, or happiness : heaven
This retreat is appropriately named in celebration of our favorite pastime, tabletop wargaming!
The event runs from October 7th to October 12, 2017.
Valhalla is a 6 day gaming retreat in the beautiful Utah mountains. You will stay at a luxurious mansion sized cabin in Heber Canyon equipped with a pool, hot tub, sauna, gaming room, entertainment room, and full time chef.
This is NOT a wargaming convention, Valhalla is a wargamer's retreat!
Each pledge level is for a ticket to this event. Pre-sale is required to ensure Valhalla can happen.
The gaming hall is open 24 hours so you can game to your heart's content. Breakfast, lunch, and dinner are provided so there is no need to leave the lodge if you do not want to.
Here is our tentative special guest list, which is subject to change.
- Owen (Gaming with the Cooler)
- Atom from Tabletop Minions
- Wargamer Girl (seems silly to say but I will be there to play games with everyone)
- More to come
You will arrive at the cabin Saturday afternoon on October 7th, 2017 and leave Thursday morning October 12, 2017.
We will be offering limited shuttle service from the airport to the lodge on Saturday and Thursday only, and from the cabin into Heber daily to pick up/drop off anyone who purchased a Battle Ticket.
For those purchasing Battle Tickets, there is another lodge being rented nearby that you may be able to rent a bed from. Contact Chris at firstname.lastname@example.org for details on that. Wargamer Girl Inc is not handling the rental of that cabin so please refer any questions to Chris.
Here is what each of the rooms look like. Please be sure to carefully read each pledge level to ensure it meets your requirements. Each room can accommodate at least two people, and a few can have three guests.
Here is what the drop pods look like. Please note there is a separate pledge level for top bunk vs bottom bunk.
Below are the private rooms:

Risks and challenges
Valhalla is an event that requires a lot of moving parts.
We must rent the cabin well ahead of time
A caterer must be committed to these dates
Transportation must be reserved
Insurance for the event must be purchased
Due to the high upfront cost of creating such an upscale event, pre-sale of tickets is required to ensure there is enough interest in Valhalla.
This is why it is important to pledge, because if there are not enough ticket sales through this Kickstarter, Valhalla in the fall will have to be cancelled.Learn about accountability on Kickstarter
