Hear something new! Homegrown 4: Boston Hassle Fest is Boston's Underground Music Festival!

Thank you to all of those who have pledged, you are so great! But even if you can't pledge it is a HUGE help to share the online pathways to pledging on your websites, blogs, Facebook, twitter, message boards, ETC.! Please help us raise the money to pay our awesome headliners: PISSED JEANS and GARY WILSON, all of the other awesome bands playing, and to pay for venue and equipment rental, advertising, and sound personnel. We've kept the cost of tickets insanely low($15/day), but we need help defraying all of the costs that come along with putting on an event like this!

Boston Hassle, B.O.W. Shows, and the Boston Counter Cultural Compass are proud to present HOMEGROWN 4: BOSTON HASSLE FEST (FB EVENT PAGE) bringing together over 40 Boston area local favorites and nationally touring underground and experimental bands for a 2-day long music festival (November 2-3, 2012 at the Cambridge Elks Lodge, 55 Bishop Allen Drive, in Central Square, Cambridge) collectively representing a wide swath of new music and the DIY spirit the organizers constantly espouse through each one of their endeavors.

From experimental to pop, punk, rock, electronic, and beyond, over 40 different bands will be playing to an audience drawn to hear something new, exciting, innovative, and representative of the DIY spirit, including the legendary NYC avant funkpop maestro Gary Wilson and Sub Pop Record's sludge punk masters Pissed Jeans.

**HOMEGROWN 4 is $15 per day at the door, there are no advanced tickets at this price. HOWEVER you can secure your tickets to the fest, help fund this project and get a bunch of cool gear at the same time by DONATING TO THIS KICKSTARTER page.**

Some bands our festival has brought to the Boston-area in the past include: Kurt Vile, Ty Segall, Tunnel Of Love, Blues Control, Pujol, Keith Fullerton Whitman, White Fence, Grass Widow, Dope Body, Hunnie Bunnies, Debo Band, JEFF the Brotherhood, Parts and Labor, Larkin Grimm, Galaxie 500 duo Damon and Naomi, Dan Lopatin(of Oneohtrix Point Never), Jesse Gallagher(of Apollo Sunshine), Homeblitz, Doomstar, BBQ (Mark Sultan of King Khan and the BBQ), Marissa Nadler, and many more.

To continue to foster and strengthen the music and arts community in Boston in all its strange and wonderful forms we need your generous financial help! This music festival makes it possible to highlight an under-heralded but potent music making community and to allow people of all ages, backgrounds, and experiences to discover this growing scene (and potentially, their new favorite band).

Please consider supporting Homegrown: Boston Hassle Fest and its mission to share with and bring to Boston a chance to hear something new, something innovative, and something exciting, and to support the underground music scene in the Boston area. We greatly appreciate your support.

Risks and challenges Learn about accountability on Kickstarter

The risks involved with our project are simple:
1. Not having enough money to properly pay all performers what they deserve.
2. Not creating the high quality music festival that we intend to present to you.

The challenges are directly related to the risks we face:
We must raise enough funds to properly pay performers, rent equipment and venue, properly advertise for the festival, and fully satisfy the music loving community that we serve.

We are using several different platforms, including fundraiser shows, official sponsorships, and Kickstarter, to raise funds in order to put on the festival that our community wants and that we have lovingly curated. With the help of our community and much hard work by our staff and many volunteers we will succeed in overcoming all challenges.
